Bloomee Collaborates with Young Flower Producers to Launch the Bouquet Connecting the Future of Flowers

Bloomee's New Initiative for Future Flower Culture

In a bold move to connect with the future of flower culture, the flower brand Bloomee (operated by Userlike, Inc. and led by CEO Ryota Takei) has unveiled a new product called "Bouquet Connecting the Future of Flowers." This bouquet exclusively features blooms cultivated by young producers in their 20s and 30s. The initiative aims to address pressing challenges in the flower industry, such as aging producers and a lack of successors, by showcasing the talents of a new generation of flower growers.

Bloomee Flowers

Background of the Initiative

Bloomee advocates for a lifestyle enhanced by flowers and has been actively promoting flower consumption through its subscription services. The brand partners with the flower market to create a unique sourcing standard termed "Bloomee Standard." This approach allows Bloomee to utilize flowers that, while beautiful, do not meet conventional market standards. By bridging the gap between producers and consumers, Bloomee encourages broader acceptance and appreciation for flowers.

In recent years, the flower industry has, like agriculture in general, faced significant issues regarding aging producers and a lack of new entrants. Many experienced growers are retiring while the younger generation's participation is minimal, leading to a decline in industry stakeholders. Moreover, rising costs for fuel and materials have further strained profitability, making the development and retention of young talent crucial for sustainable flower production.

Given this landscape, Bloomee has taken a proactive stance by partnering with young producers to share their visions and expertise directly with consumers through the "Bouquet Connecting the Future of Flowers." By exclusively featuring flowers from this demographic, Bloomee hopes to deliver their stories and challenges through the medium of flowers to the public.

Spotlight on Collaborating Producers

The Bouquet Connecting the Future of Flowers is created using only locally sourced blooms from young producers across Japan. Each bouquet is accompanied by a card that includes the producer's name and a personal message, sharing insights into their journey and passion for flower cultivation. This not only adds depth to the product but also enriches the consumer's experience, making them feel a personal connection to the flowers they choose.

The bouquet features contributions from three up-and-coming flower producers:

1. Chikida Flower Garden (Saga Prefecture, Karatsu City)

- Flowers: Mums and Sunflowers
- Comment: "We want to deliver flowers that evoke cherished memories. The colorful, dyed flowers should resonate with youth culture, connecting the beauty in fleeting moments to discussions about life's hobbies."

2. Hinataba (Fukushima Prefecture, Minamisoma City)

- Flower: Baby’s Breath
- Comment: "Flowers should be a part of everyday life, not just for special occasions. I believe they can transform our moods and spaces, making memories last. My mission is to connect consumers directly with the producers of the flowers they cherish."

3. Matsushita Gardening (Shizuoka Prefecture, Hamamatsu City)

- Flower: Gerbera
- Comment: "Flowers don't have a long life, but I hope people will enjoy the changes they bring each day. I wish to encourage more individuals to embrace flowers in their personal space, enhancing everyday living."
