MAC.BID Expands Its Presence in Texas with New San Antonio Location

MAC.BID Expands Retail Network in San Antonio

In a significant move, MAC.BID, an online retail liquidation company, has opened its second location in San Antonio, Texas, marking another step in its growth strategy in the Lone Star State. The new facility will not only expand MAC.BID's operational capacity but also create over 50 new local jobs, enhancing employment opportunities within the region.

Founded in 2018 in Butler, Pennsylvania, MAC.BID has quickly established itself as a leader in purchasing returned and overstocked goods from well-known retailers such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, Home Depot, and Wayfair. By reselling these items through its online auction platform, the company has turned potential waste into savings for consumers. All products are auctioned with an enticing starting bid of just $1, allowing participants to save as much as 80% off retail prices. This unique auction model has garnered an enthusiastic response, further solidifying MAC.BID’s reputation as a resource for value-conscious shoppers.

According to Kellen Campbell, co-founder and president of MAC.BID, the response from the local community since the opening of their first Texas location in Schertz has been overwhelming. “We've felt the love and support from the community,” he stated, emphasizing that their success has facilitated this latest expansion. The new location at 4666 U.S. 90 Access Rd will complement the Schertz site at 17745 Lookout Rd, Suite 400, thereby enhancing customer access to affordable products across San Antonio.

MAC.BID currently boasts over 24 locations throughout several states, including Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Texas. With the addition of the San Antonio facility, MAC.BID continues to strengthen its commitment to offering consumers viable alternatives to traditional retail shopping. The company now employs close to 1,500 people and operates in excess of 2 million square feet of warehouse space across the United States.

Job Creation and Community Commitment

The establishment of the San Antonio location adds valuable job opportunities for local residents across various roles and skill levels, reinforcing MAC.BID's commitment to local communities. This focus on job creation aligns with the company's philosophy of providing second chances not only for products but also for people, fostering economic resilience within the neighborhoods they operate in.

In addition to job creation, MAC.BID is actively involved in contributing to sustainability efforts. By repurposing large commercial spaces, often transforming old big-box stores into functional auction pickup locations, MAC.BID is revitalizing underutilized properties while helping reduce waste. Many of the returned and unsold items that may have otherwise been discarded find new homes through MAC.BID’s marketplace, contributing to a more sustainable consumption model.

In October 2024, MAC.BID expanded its operations further in the Southwest by launching five additional warehouse and retail locations across Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada. This expansion is a testament to the company’s rapid growth and commitment to bringing affordable shopping solutions to more communities.
