Anthropologie Expands Philanthropic Impact with Four New Nonprofit Partners
Anthropologie, the renowned global lifestyle brand, is thrilled to unveil the expansion of its philanthropic initiatives through new partnerships with four regional nonprofit organizations in the United States. This significant move seeks to strengthen the brand's commitment to community engagement by aligning with key causes such as Arts Education, Women's Empowerment, and Sustainability.
In a recent announcement, made on July 21, 2025, Anthropologie revealed that these new partners were carefully selected by the brand’s store teams from every corner of the country, covering North Central, East, South, and West regions. According to Mindy Massey, the Global Executive Director of Retail for Anthropologie Group, this expansion reflects the company's belief that their stores are more than just retail spaces; they serve as integral parts of their respective communities. "Our stores are deeply rooted in local communities across the country. These partnerships give our associates a meaningful way to connect with causes that matter in their communities and reflect what we stand for as a brand," she stated.
Each selected organization will benefit from an annual donation of $10,000, complemented by anthropological support through employee volunteerism and community engagement efforts. This robust strategy provides Anthropologie with the unique opportunity to amplify its impact as it leverages its extensive retail footprint, paralleling the philanthropic goals of the brand with those of nonprofits.
New Partnerships Overview
1.
Arts Midwest: Aimed at advancing creativity, Arts Midwest focuses on supporting artists and funding various arts organizations to enhance cultural initiatives. The contribution from Anthropologie will help reach over 250,000 artists, arts leaders, and audiences across the Midwest, facilitating grants, leadership resources, and storytelling efforts vital for building vibrant, creative communities.
2.
Mid Atlantic Arts: This organization is dedicated to connecting people through diverse artistic expressions by offering funding and programs that not only support artists but also broaden access to the arts. Anthropologie’s support will empower more than 1,000 artistic performances and engagement events each year, championing diverse voices and cultural exchanges throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
3.
Southern Black Girls & Women’s Consortium: This collective comprises Black women leaders focused on uplifting organizations that empower Black girls and women across the Southern U.S. Anthropologie's involvement will assist in providing resources and leadership opportunities to over 250 organizations led by Black women across 13 Southern states, fostering significant community advancements.
4.
Surfrider Foundation: This environmental organization works to protect the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches through a dynamic activism network. Anthropologie’s partnership will further Surfrider's campaigns to maintain clean water and healthy coastlines by promoting grassroots advocacy, implementing science-based solutions, and enhancing community education initiatives along America’s shores.
Commitment to Community
The expansion marks a natural progression in Anthropologie's social responsibility journey, following the initiation of their local partnerships in Philadelphia earlier this year. Kate Haldy, head of PR, Communications, and Impact at Anthropologie Group, expressed enthusiasm regarding this development: "By empowering our store teams to identify, nominate, and engage with organizations making a difference in their regions, we're deepening our commitment to impact in a truly community-driven way."
As a brand, Anthropologie prides itself on being a distinctly unique lifestyle choice, engaging in a constant dialogue with a thoughtful, creative-minded audience. The brand’s diverse offerings, ranging from clothing to home décor, are tailored with an emphasis on personal expression and inspiration. Since its establishment in 1992, Anthropologie has grown to ship globally, further enhancing its customer interactions through meaningful initiatives like this.
