Air Premia Expands U.S. Network with New Incheon to Washington D.C. Route

Air Premia Expands Its Reach in North America

Air Premia, one of Korea's leading hybrid airlines, is set to launch a significant new route linking Incheon International Airport with Washington D.C.'s Dulles International Airport (IAD) on April 24, 2026. This bold move marks the airline’s fourth service to the U.S. mainland, following its established routes to Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. With this addition, the airline will operate five out of its nine total routes in North America, highlighting its ongoing commitment to expanding its presence in the U.S. market.

Strategic Importance of the New Route

The Incheon to Washington D.C. route has long been seen as a crucial segment with limited nonstop options for travelers. Historically, passengers have been reliant on codeshare agreements with American carriers, facing constraints in their travel choices. Air Premia's entry is poised to enhance customer options significantly, providing increased capacity and introducing competitive pricing to a market that has been in high demand.

Washington D.C. serves as the central hub for the U.S. federal government, numerous international organizations, and prestigious research institutions. Therefore, the demand among public sector, diplomatic, and business travelers remains robust. In fact, statistics from Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport reveal that over 175,000 passengers utilized this route in 2024. With Air Premia entering this competitive arena, passengers can anticipate better service, greater affordability, and enhanced connectivity options.

Timetable and Availability

The flight schedule for the Incheon–Washington D.C. route consists of four weekly services, departing every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Flights will leave Incheon at 10:05 AM, landing in Washington at 10:50 AM local time. Return flights will depart D.C. at 12:00 PM, arriving back in Incheon the following day at 5:45 PM. This convenient schedule is subject to government approval, and tickets will go on sale starting December 15, 2025.

An Air Premia spokesperson elaborated on the importance of this new service, stating, "Washington, D.C. is a strategic route with consistently strong demand from government, international organizations, and research institutions. As we expand our North American network, we aim to provide even greater travel flexibility and convenience for both leisure and business passengers."

Future Plans and Network Expansion

With the Incheon to Washington D.C. service, Air Premia will offer a well-rounded North American network that includes major locations on both the U.S. East and West coasts, as well as Hawaii. This strategic expansion not only aims to cater to the needs of U.S.-bound travelers but also to position the airline as a premier hybrid carrier focusing on North America.

As global travel continues to rebound, Air Premia's new offering will undoubtedly contribute to an increase in direct flights and improve the overall travel experience for passengers traveling between South Korea and the United States. As competition grows in the international aviation market, customers can look forward to enhanced services and more travel choices on this vital trans-Pacific route.
