SIGEP WORLD: A Global Foodservice Event Welcoming Saudi Arabia in 2025
SIGEP WORLD 2025: A Global Foodservice Showcase in Italy
The upcoming SIGEP WORLD 2025, hosted by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), is gearing up to be a landmark event for the foodservice industry. Scheduled from January 18 to 22, 2025, in Rimini, Italy, this year's edition promises a vibrant display of innovation and international collaboration. With Saudi Arabia as the guest country, the event is set to feature participants from 33 countries, including notable culinary locations such as Germany, Spain, China, and the United States.
A Global Gathering
As the 46th edition of SIGEP WORLD approaches, expectations are high. More than 3,000 buyers from a diverse range of foodservice sectors—from restaurants and hotels to gelato shops—are anticipated to attend, fostering connections and facilitating cross-border trade. The CEO of IEG, Corrado Peraboni, emphasized the importance of this event for the ice cream, pastry, bakery, coffee, chocolate, and pizza sectors, noting that it reflects the global demand for excellence in foodservice practices.
“We have created a strategic network with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), which has significantly contributed to attracting international delegations,” stated Marco Carniello, CBO of IEG. This network not only augments the event's appeal but also enhances the potential for fruitful business relationships.
Saudi Arabia Takes Center Stage
The highlight of this year’s event is Saudi Arabia’s participation, reflecting its growing influence in the foodservice market. As detailed by Flavia Morelli, head of the Food and Beverage division at IEG, the Saudi market is expanding rapidly, and the appetite for technological innovation is higher than ever. Notable participants in the Saudi delegation will include major industry players such as Barn's, a café chain with over 800 locations, and Al Tazaj, a fast-food restaurant chain with more than 120 restaurants. This focus on innovation aligns perfectly with the themes of the event, centered around technology and sustainability in foodservice.
To accommodate international visitors, especially those from Saudi Arabia and nearby regions, a direct flight from Munich to Rimini will be operational throughout the duration of the event, making it easier for global buyers to attend such a crucial gathering.
Exciting Sessions and Networking Opportunities
In addition to the international exhibits, SIGEP WORLD 2025 will host more than 40 international events, featuring 60 speakers who are experts in the out-of-home (OOH) sector. Approximately 520 buyers from 79 countries, including the United States, India, and Brazil, have already joined the Top Buyers Program, ensuring a robust participation that promises valuable networking, knowledge sharing, and sourcing opportunities.
Moreover, the event will welcome 2,500 European buyers representing countries like Spain, Germany, France, and the UK, all aiming to explore innovative offerings and forge new partnerships that can benefit their respective markets.
With the Foodservice landscape evolving, events like SIGEP WORLD serve as vital platforms for showcasing innovation, learning, and collaboration. For industry professionals keen to stay ahead in a competitive World Market, attending SIGEP WORLD is not just an opportunity; it's a necessity.
In essence, SIGEP WORLD 2025 is set to nourish the future of foodservice, bridging cultures and enhancing global cuisines as it welcomes attendees from around the globe, particularly shining a spotlight on the burgeoning Saudi Arabian market. As the dates approach, the anticipation builds, promising an unforgettable experience for all involved.
