Celebrating Animal Welfare with a Unique Wedding Experience in Okinawa
In a delightful fusion of animal welfare and personal celebration, Weve Co., Ltd. is set to launch its innovative video experience wedding service, "oshi-dori," on August 20, 2025. This will be the third installment of the series, following successful launches in Hokkaido and Iwate. This time, the breathtaking backdrop will be Okinawa, providing couples with an extraordinary way to commemorate their special day while supporting the welfare of rescued animals.
What is "oshi-dori"?
"Oshi-dori" is a unique experiential wedding service that allows couples to capture significant life moments with their favorite entities, often referred to as their "oshi." Through a combination of photography and videography, this service aims to preserve the essence of these special encounters for future reminiscing. By adding narrative elements and immersive experiences, "oshi-dori" elevates traditional photo weddings into exhilarating and personalized celebrations.
Venue: Horse Garden Churan, Uruma City
This new chapter takes place at the "Horse Garden Churan" in Uruma City, Okinawa, where retired racehorses, goats, dogs, cats, and various small animals find refuge. The farm boasts three retired racehorses: Sparkle Menow, Unshinkable, and Asakusa Point, who live freely among other rescued animals. Visitors are greeted with an uplifting atmosphere filled with hope and warmth as they interact with the diverse residents.
Couples participating in "oshi-dori" can enjoy hands-on experiences with the animals at the farm, along with an extravagant horseback riding session along Okinawa's pristine beaches. The ambiance—the sound of hooves, the gentle breeze, and the sight of the sandy shores—will be captured on film, creating memories that can be revisited time and again.
Additionally, a portion of the filming fees is allocated towards providing care for the animals, which directly contributes to ensuring their ongoing wellbeing and security.
"Oshi-dori" is not just a wedding service—it's a meaningful opportunity to fuse celebration with compassion. By cherishing moments spent with animals, each couple can create a once-in-a-lifetime memory while also playing a role in protecting these precious lives.
Comments from the Venue
"We are immensely pleased to collaborate with Weve Co., Ltd. to offer this new video wedding service at Horse Garden Churan. Our facility has always prioritized the connection between humans and animals, fostering a space for embracing life and nature. Through this collaboration, we can now provide couples with a special chance to preserve these bonds through the medium of video.
Even for those choosing not to hold a traditional wedding ceremony, we hope that their day spent at Horse Garden Churan, surrounded by the calming ocean waves and gentle horses, will become a cherished memory. Our goal is to be a welcoming place where more people can experience the warmth of life through interactions with animals."
A New Era of Celebrations: Merging Regionality and Support
At the heart of this initiative is the belief that celebrating special moments can also be an act of protection. Originally established through crowdfunding in 2021 with the support of around 600 donors, Horse Garden Churan continues its vital work with the help of dedicated volunteers and donations.
The filming fees from "oshi-dori" contribute directly to the food and medical expenses for the animals, reinforcing the idea that participating in this experience is about more than just celebrating—it's a chance to protect lives. Additionally, for participants traveling from outside the region, this unique filming opportunity may encourage them to explore Okinawa, thereby economically benefiting the local community.
Recent Response and Future Plans for "oshi-dori"
The "oshi-dori" series has already garnered interest following its initial launch in November 2024 at Yogibo Versailles Resort Farm in Hokkaido, where interactions with retired racehorses drew much attention. Following that, the second phase kicks off in Iwate at the historical theme park "Esaashi Fujiwara no Sato" on July 31, 2025.
Positive reception is seen with participants noting that their experiences at these unique locations, combined with the joy of animal interactions, have created everlasting memories.
"Unlike the typical wedding photos or videos, this experience allowed us to bond with horses and immerse ourselves in scenic locations. Initially unsure, we now realize it's undoubtedly a unique experience for animal lovers and racing fanatics, resulting in cherished photographs that we will treasure for a lifetime." - A participant from the first installment at Yogibo Versailles Resort Farm.
Celebrating Memories in Personalized Ways
Due to shifts in values accelerated by the pandemic, wedding formats are evolving significantly. More couples prioritize personal expression over conventionality, seeking reflections of their true emotions. "Oshi-dori" extends itself as a new option for preserving memories with one's "oshi," blending traditional aspects with modern desires for distinct experiences.
We aim to expand this concept further, anticipating future collaborations in various unique settings, including theme parks, art venues, and entertainment facilities.
