Alusaga Partners Triumphs at Tokyo Open Data Hackathon 2025
On October 26, 2025, Alusaga Partners, a consulting firm based in Shibuya, Tokyo, participated in the Final Stage of the Tokyo Open Data Hackathon 2025. A team composed of volunteers from the company, known as "Data First Society Z," proposed an innovative urban service concept called "Urban Resource Link (ARL)." This initiative aims to transform noise generated by construction or events into a valuable asset rather than a nuisance, ultimately earning the team the Audience Award.
About the Tokyo Open Data Hackathon
The Tokyo Open Data Hackathon, now in its fifth year, harnesses the power of open data to address administrative challenges through digital services. The event kicked off earlier in the summer with 132 initial proposals submitted, of which only 24 advanced to the Final Stage.
The members of Data First Society Z combined open data with a point-reward system to create services that promote urban harmony. Their idea, Urban Resource Link, successfully bridged gaps between residents, businesses, and government, reversing the negative cycles often associated with urban noise.
Urban Resource Link: From Nuisance to Resource
The proposal for Urban Resource Link reimagines the noise produced by urban activities as a resource. By notifying residents in advance about noise events, they can be compensated with various rewards like points, thus alleviating tensions borne from disturbances. This not only mitigates the urban negative loop but also creates a structural solution that promotes better relationships among stakeholders.
Moreover, by integrating this service with the official Tokyo metropolitan app, it is expected to widen usage and provide a new revenue stream for administrative bodies. Future objectives include utilizing collected data to predict noise occurrences and mitigate their impact, consequently resulting in a more harmonious urban environment.
