CATL Introduces Shenxing Pro at IAA Mobility 2025

In an exciting reveal at the open house event, CATL has launched the Shenxing Pro, the world’s first lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery capable of maintaining consistent high voltages, exceptional performance, and safety during thermal instability. This innovative battery aims to address the unique needs of the rapidly growing electric mobility market in Europe, setting new standards in safety, longevity, driving range, and ultra-fast charging capabilities.

The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) in Europe is accelerating. According to reports by SNE and MarkLines, electric vehicle ownership rose from 23% to 26% in the first half of 2025, with projections estimating a surge to 29% by year-end. The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts EV sales in Europe to reach 4 million this year, up from 3.2 million in 2024. However, consumer apprehensions remain significant. 1. Long-Range and Long-Lifespan Batteries:
The world’s first LFP battery to deliver a range of 758 kilometers under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) and a landmark lifespan of 12 years or 1,000,000 kilometers. It demonstrates only a 9% capacity reduction after the first 200,000 kilometers, making it ideal for supporting Europe’s leasing markets.

2. Ultra-Fast Charging Batteries:
Capable of quick charging to provide a range of 478 kilometers in just 10 minutes, this makes it the leading super-fast LFP battery in Europe at a charging rate of 0.8 kilometers per second. Achieving 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in a mere 2.5 seconds—even at a 20% state of charge—demonstrates exceptional performance and reliability across various conditions, including extreme cold, where it can charge to a range of 410 kilometers within 20 minutes at -20°C. The batteries are backed with up to 10-year/240,000 km warranties, rewriting resilience standards for ultra-fast charging.

Both variants utilize CATL's advanced NP 3.0 technology, regarded as one of the world's best safety innovations. This technology ensures sustained high voltage for over an hour during thermal instability, allowing drivers vital time to safely evacuate vehicles from dangerous situations without risk of ignition or smoke.

Given the increasing trend toward autonomous driving, where Level 3 (L3) and Level 4 (L4) systems shift accident responsibility toward the vehicle's systems, Shenxing Pro guarantees uninterrupted power supply and system continuity in emergency situations, addressing escalating safety demands.

Utilizing CATL's innovative Wave cell design, which features elevated arm structures and space-sharing technologies, Shenxing Pro becomes the world’s first battery to enable cooling systems and secure fittings from any direction.
