Celebrating Global Success: GLOBIS MBA Graduation 2025
On August 24, 2025, the GLOBIS Graduate School held its graduation ceremony for the full-time English MBA program at their Tokyo campus. This year marked the celebration of 44 graduates hailing from 20 different countries. The president, Yoshito Hori, delivered an encouraging address to the graduates, urging them to embrace adventure and envision their futures with courage.
Hori stated, “Taking risks will inevitably lead you to face challenges. Challenges are opportunities for growth. Staying within your comfort zone stifles learning and personal development. I hope you have the courage to embrace adversity.” He emphasized the importance of navigating the current era of “Technovation,” a blending of technology and innovation, and called on students to deepen their understanding of technology and harness their managerial skills to move forward.
Two students spoke on behalf of their classmates at the ceremony. Andy Meade, the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award from the UK, shared his insights on leadership. He explained that one does not need a prestigious title to be a leader; rather, it’s about taking action courageously, regardless of position. “Time will tell whether your actions were right or wrong. However, facing challenges and making decisions is crucial. Keep your curiosity alive and trust your instincts,” Meade remarked. He also highlighted the importance of resilience and the need to find joy and love in life’s journey.
Renee Lyn Reyes from the Philippines reflected on her growth during her time at GLOBIS, encapsulating her experience with her “3C framework” — Community, Change, and Challenge. She encouraged her peers to question themselves with “So What?” while recalling their growth since the enrollment ceremony a year prior, today standing ready to tackle real-world challenges.
The English MBA program, which started in 2009, has now graduated 984 students since the introduction of the full-time program in 2012. More than 90% of the graduates from the full-time program are international students, creating a unique and diverse learning environment that fosters business professionals equipped to thrive globally.
This year’s graduates came from various locations: Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Kuwait, Mongolia, Nigeria, the Philippines, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.
