FORVAL Revamps Headquarters Office to Foster Diverse Work Styles and ESG Practices
FORVAL, a consultative collective dubbed the “Corporate Doctor” known for supporting ESG management visually and collaboratively, has completed a significant renovation of its headquarters in Shibuya, Tokyo. The renovation emphasizes improving workplace diversity and enhancing employee productivity, all while keeping up with the principles of ESG.
The Background of the Renovation
As part of its commitment to progressive work arrangements, FORVAL had previously adopted a free-address seating system. However, with the increasing number of projects and meetings, the firm faced challenges related to the availability of meeting spaces and seats. To address these issues, FORVAL expanded its office space on the 15th floor of the Oval Building, creating an environment that is both flexible and comfortable.
The newly designed workspace on the 15th floor features height-adjustable desks, tele-cubes, and web booths, catering to a diverse range of work styles. Employees now have the liberty to choose between focused tasks and collaborative projects based on their needs. This setup enhances work engagement and productivity while facilitating a better work-life balance.
The renovated office also includes soundproof rooms and café-style lounges on each floor, promoting smooth communication whether online or face-to-face. This design fosters creativity and concentration, ensuring that the workspace aligns with modern work requirements.
In addition to these improvements, the renovation has paved the way for Tanita Health Link, another company that joined the FORVAL group in May 2024, to relocate to the headquarters. This move strengthens group collaboration and optimizes synergies within the network.
Office Design Reflecting ESG Management
The recent renovations are not just about aesthetics; they are a commitment to embodying ESG management through sustainable space design. On the 14th-floor area, eco-friendly materials like “EkoWaku” were used, and an expanded entrance features “ikumori panels,” which contribute to planting trees equivalent to the amount of wood used in the design.
Furthermore, the flooring comprises Eco Mark-certified carpet tiles, and lightweight chairs designed to emit less CO₂ during manufacturing were selected to minimize the carbon footprint of the workspace. The design also maintains the existing interiors of the former tenant on the 15th floor to reduce environmental impact and overall costs related to construction.

- - Face Recognition Access Control System: Enhances security and convenience for employees.
- - Beacapp Here: An app that allows real-time tracking of employee locations, promoting flexible office utilization.
