Proya Cosmetics Shines at IFSCC 2025 with Top Research Award Recognizing Innovation in Aging Solutions
Proya Cosmetics Triumphs at IFSCC 2025
On September 18, 2025, Proya Cosmetics, a pioneering player in the Chinese beauty sector, was celebrated for its outstanding research as it received the IFSCC's prestigious award for the Top 10 Basic Research Papers of 2025. This recognition places Proya ahead of approximately 1,200 global submissions, marking it as the only Chinese cosmetics company to feature in this elite group.
The award-winning paper, titled "Discovery of Bioactive Compounds for Mitochondrial Optimization and Anti-Aging via Artificial Intelligence," was presented by Dr. Jihua Wei, the lead researcher at Proya’s Longwu R&D Center in Hangzhou. The paper emphasized the impact of collaboration with Zhejiang University, shedding light on the transformative potential of AI in identifying anti-aging agents.
Dr. Wei remarked, "This accolade highlights our collaborative efforts with Zhejiang University and underscores the revolutionary potential of AI in the field of active ingredient discovery. Through deep learning, we developed a high-throughput screening platform capable of predicting and validating natural product efficacy, greatly enhancing our R&D accuracy and efficiency. I extend my gratitude to my team and our partners for their unwavering commitment."
The study utilized AI to identify natural compounds that enhance mitochondrial function and combat skin aging. Following validation through high-throughput imaging analysis and biological testing, the team introduced Cellergy pro™—an innovative multi-component formula designed to restore energy metabolism, repair mitochondrial damage, and address multiple aging markers. Launched in August 2025, Cellergy pro™ is now a key element of Proya's Energy Series 2.0, which includes a toning essence, a repairing lotion, and a moisturizing cream—marking a significant advancement in AI-driven skincare.
During the 35th IFSCC Congress, Mr. Juncheng Hou, Founder and President of Proya Cosmetics, led the company's R&D delegation, presenting 14 significant research initiatives. In addition to the award-winning publication, the company showcased 13 scientific posters covering diverse topics such as raw material discoveries, innovative skin and hair assessment methods, new biological mechanisms, advanced physicochemical analysis techniques, formulation innovations, and the application of new materials. These projects span multiple product categories—including skincare, haircare, makeup, and sun protection—demonstrating Proya's expansive and profound global R&D capabilities.
Mr. Hou stated, "Being the sole Chinese cosmetic company recognized with the IFSCC 2025 award validates our long-standing commitment to scientific and technological innovation, highlighting international recognition of Chinese excellence in the beauty sector. Proya will continue to enhance its global R&D network, promoting technological progress and the internationalization of the Chinese cosmetics industry."
Dr. Hu Huang, Chief Scientist at Proya Cosmetics, added, "The IFSCC Congress is considered the 'Olympics of Cosmetic Science.' To see our publication selected among the Top 10 Basic Research papers from 1,200 global submissions is a historic achievement for a Chinese R&D team. We will continue to bolster our research capabilities to strengthen our brands and elevate the international impact of Chinese cosmetic expertise."
