Ethiopian Airlines and Collins Aerospace Join Forces for Premium Seating

In a significant move to elevate passenger comfort, Ethiopian Airlines has partnered with Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX, to provide premium lie-flat business class seating solutions. This collaboration was announced during the Dubai Air Show, marking a new era for one of Africa's largest airlines in terms of in-flight luxury.

New Aircraft to Feature State-of-the-Art Suites

As part of this agreement, Ethiopian Airlines will equip its new fleet of Airbus A350-900 aircraft with Collins' Elevation suites. These advanced seating arrangements promise passengers a blend of privacy, comfort, and ample workspace to work, relax, or enjoy dining experiences at 35,000 feet.

Cynthia Muklevicz, Vice President of Global Airlines Lessors at Collins Aerospace, emphasized how these premium solutions match Ethiopian Airlines’ rapidly growing brand and commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience. Alongside this, Collins is also set to provide seating solutions for Ethiopian’s recently ordered Boeing 777-9 aircraft, ensuring that the experience is consistent across both aircraft families.

Extending Comfort to the 737 MAX Fleet

In addition to the A350s, a total of 56 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in Ethiopian Airlines' fleet will be outfitted with Collins Aerospace's Parallel Diamond business class seats. Known for their elegant design and focus on comfort, these seats are engineered for long-distance flights and enhance the overall travel experience on narrow-body aircraft.

The Elevation suite features a unique reverse herringbone layout that provides travelers with ample living space—complete with a privacy door and integrated storage areas that are easy to access. This well-thought-out design allows for increased comfort and personal space without compromising cabin capacity.

On the other hand, the Parallel Diamond seat boasts an advanced kinematic design, strategically angled to offer maximum space and privacy. With the ability to transform into a 78-inch lie-flat bed, the seat is ideal for long-haul journeys, ensuring passengers arrive at their destination refreshed and relaxed.
