Jon Stewart Announced as Host for National First Responders Day
The First Responders Children's Foundation (FRCF), a nationwide nonprofit organization committed to supporting the families of first responders, has appointed Jon Stewart, the well-known late-night talk show host and activist, as the host and master of ceremonies for the fifth annual National First Responders Day ceremony. This event, presented by SERVPRO, will take place in the heart of Times Square on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
This annual event pays tribute to the valiant efforts of firefighting, emergency medical services, law enforcement, and volunteer first responders. A new addition to this year's event includes recognition for those who fought against the devastating wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
A Platform for Heroes
FRCF's President and CEO, Jillian Crane, expressed pride in featuring these heroes on a global stage, stating, "We are thrilled to have Mr. Stewart lead our 2025 National First Responders Day and Roll Call of Heroes ceremony. His longstanding commitment to advocating for first responders, particularly those affected by 9/11-related illnesses, makes him an exemplary host for our flagship event."
Jon Stewart has tirelessly championed first responders, using his platform to advocate for those who risk their lives for others. His notable endeavors include an impassioned testimony before Congress in 2019, leading to the establishment of permanent funding for the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Moreover, Stewart frequently visits firehouses, honors fallen heroes, and provides support to their families.
"It's an honor to stand side-by-side with the very heroes who keep us safe every day. First responders answer chaos with courage and compassion," remarked Stewart. "If lending my voice helps amplify that, I'm in. I want to thank the First Responders Children's Foundation for giving these heroes a stage worthy of the work they do, and I’m excited to recognize their achievements."
