What is a Local Meister?

The essence of a Local Meister revolves around a passion to provide enriching travel experiences for guests. Established in 2019, this program aims to highlight both the comfort and functionality of hotels while emphasizing the unique attractions and activities available in their respective regions. By tapping into local expertise, the Local Meister initiative allows for a more personalized and immersive experience for hotel guests.

A Local Meister is a staff member who has successfully passed a specialized accreditation exam, showcasing their thorough knowledge of the local attractions. As of March 2025, there are approximately 130 Local Meisters spanning Comfort Hotels across Japan, dedicated to ensuring that travelers have fulfilling journeys. These experts deliver valuable information—ranging from local cuisine to attractions—via direct communication with guests, blogs on the official website, and in-house communication boards.

First Local Meister Workshop Held

In an effort to reinforce the importance of Local Meisters, the inaugural workshop focused on enhancing communication between Meisters and improving their skill sets. The event brought together 12 Local Meisters from the brand’s hotels nationwide, allowing for a rich exchange of ideas related to the sharing of local information, dining experiences, and tourist attractions.
