Zenken's Commitment to Supporting Foreign Care Workers in Niigata
Zenken Corporation, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has announced its new contract with Niigata Prefecture to provide support for foreign care workers aiming to obtain national certification for caregiving. This initiative, which will commence on April 30, 2026, is aimed at creating a more accommodating working environment for foreign professionals within the caregiving sector.
The project focuses on foreign care personnel who have entered Japan under certain skill categories such as specified skilled worker and technical intern training programs. These individuals are generally granted a maximum residency period of five years. However, successful completion of the national caregiver examination allows them to secure a long-term visa under the 'caregiving' category, enabling them to stay and work in Japan's caregiving sector for an extended period.
To ensure success, Zenken plans to conduct a six-month online training program directed toward participants preparing for the 39th National Caregiver Examination. This program includes personalized learning support, allowing each student to identify and address their weak points through a comprehensive curriculum tailored to individual needs.
In addition to online learning, Zenken is also taking steps to foster community and professional networks among students. By organizing in-person meetups designated as 'student exchange events,' they promote collaboration and mutual support among caregivers who share the same goals. This initiative is built not only as an exam preparation method but also as a holistic support system addressing both academic and emotional challenges. By doing so, Zenken aims to strengthen the presence and integration of foreign caregivers within the Niigata caregiving sector.
For continuity, this year's contract follows last year's successful support program, emphasizing Zenken’s commitment to quality training. Furthermore, the company has secured a new contract for the 'Foreign Care Worker Overseas Matching Support Program' in the same fiscal year. This program will facilitate the introduction of potential caregiving candidates from abroad, laying the foundation for their professional journey in Japan.
Zenken remains dedicated to collaborating with local governments to ensure that foreign care workers are welcomed as valued members of the community, fostering an environment where they can thrive and contribute meaningfully in the caregiving profession.
