Apaman Shop's New Dance Project: A Taste of Kyoto
On October 29, 2025, Apaman Corporation, recognized as the top company in Japan for rental housing brokerage, will unveil the 26th chapter of its social media initiative featuring its beloved character, Bear-Kun. This campaign focuses on showcasing local attractions in all 47 prefectures through dance, with the latest edition celebrating the cultural essence of Kyoto, titled "Shinsengumi: A Dance Expressing Kyoto's Flavors."
Background and Objectives
This innovative project aims to energize local economies by highlighting the wonders of each prefecture and promoting regional revitalization. By employing the lively Bear-Kun, the campaign illustrates the iconic landscapes and specialties of Kyoto, thereby enhancing the allure of the area. The initiative contributes to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 11, which focuses on creating sustainable cities and communities while also impacting economic growth, targeting Goal 8, which emphasizes decent work and economic growth.
The Dance: Kyoto's Culinary Heritage
In the upcoming video, Bear-Kun embodies the spirit of the historical Shinsengumi while performing a dance that showcases the culinary arts of Kyoto. Equipped with a prop resembling a sword and mimicking the swift movements of a kitchen knife, Bear-Kun gracefully prepares seasonal Kyoto vegetables, elegantly celebrating the depth of Kyoto's food culture. The choreography enhances the historical context and culinary heritage of the region, making it a vibrant representation of both.
The choreography includes:
1. Left side guard stance
2. Pose with right hand in the air
3. Swinging arms left and right
4. Full spin to the right
5. Final pose
A Platform to Share Local Charm
The "Bear-Kun 47 Prefectural Dance" project encourages engagement through short dance videos (approximately 15 seconds) focusing on local traditions, festivals, and specialties. These videos will be shared on Apaman Shop's official social media accounts, including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok. This approach not only connects with audiences nationwide but also reinforces the value of local heritage and community pride.
