Exploring Architectural Culture and Circular Economy at Osaka Expo 2025

Architectural Culture and Circular Economy at Osaka Expo 2025

The Osaka Kansai Expo 2025 will feature an exciting event organized by the Cultural Affairs Agency, titled "The Future of Architectural Culture and Circular Economy: This Generation Will Be Alright," which will take place from September 9 to 14, 2025, at the EXPO Messe "WASSE." This event, organized by HIS, aims to engage the next generation, known as Generation Alpha, in experiencing Japan's architectural culture while fostering their creativity towards designing a carbon-neutral future.

The significance of this event lies in encouraging children to explore concepts like recycling, circular economy, and sustainability through hands-on experiences related to architecture and art. Participants will engage in activities such as touching, constructing, and decorating, which will inspire them to think about coexisting with the environment. The ultimate goal is to unleash the potential of children through architecture and share visions for a sustainable future.

Concept

Incorporating traditional Japanese aesthetics and craftsmanship, the event will reflect elements of "Beauty, Technique, Skill, and Art." This set of values embodies a harmony with nature and sustainability, serving as crucial aspects in our consideration of future architecture and urban design.
