Recognition from UNICEF
The Medical Aesthetic Association, based in Chuo, Tokyo, has proudly accepted a certificate of appreciation from the Japan Committee for UNICEF. This honor acknowledges the sustained contributions made by Sapporo Gakuin's director, Hajime Suzuki, and the institution's commitment to supporting children's well-being and future.
A Journey of Continuous Support
Sapporo Gakuin operates its aesthetics school under the guiding philosophy of contributing to society through esthetics. For many years, the academy has engaged in activities aimed at protecting the health of children globally. The recent acknowledgment from UNICEF is a testament to the dedication and collective efforts of students, instructors, and supporters who have contributed to these noble endeavors.
Celebrating Success with Mascot NOA
In a joyful celebration of this achievement, NOA, the official mascot of the Medical Aesthetic Association, made her first official public appearance since being appointed as the Public Relations Director. During her visit to Sapporo Gakuin, NOA shared in the excitement of the occasion with students, capturing the spirit of camaraderie where the love for helping others and advancing societal good resounds.
Reflections from Director Hajime Suzuki
Hajime Suzuki expressed gratitude upon receiving the award, remarking, "This year, we received a certificate of appreciation from UNICEF. Although it has been a modest initiative, being recognized in such a way is profoundly rewarding.
Reflecting on a personal aspect of her journey, Suzuki shared a period when she was unwell. With restoration requiring more time than anticipated, she often pondered how she could contribute and assist others. This reflection spurred her career in the esthetics industry, which is now celebrating over 20 years of dedication.
"The beauty profession does more than enhance appearances; it has the power to uplift and transform lives positively. I cherish the feeling of gratitude and aspire to engage in meaningful activities that contribute to society in collaboration with our students," she remarked.
A Message from Representative Director Makiko Nishio
Makiko Nishio, representative director, shared a vital message as well. "For 47 years, we have contributed to society through the training of estheticians. Our support activities for UNICEF at Sapporo Gakuin are a symbol of our commitment to fostering empathy towards others. We will continue our initiatives in providing beauty and health, and delivering smiles both domestically and internationally."
Excitement from NOA, the Mascot
NOA enthusiastically stated, "Congratulations to everyone at Sapporo Gakuin! I'm proud to help bring joy to children worldwide. Let's work together to deliver even more happiness! The dedication of everyone pursuing excellence in the field of medical aesthetics is something I take great pride in!"

Since its establishment in 1979, under the leadership of Director Nishio, the association has been pioneering the training of estheticians by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Notably, they've supported the rehabilitation of inmates through vocational training at Tochigi Prison, ensuring their smooth return to society. Their reliable skills and personalized educational approach have garnered trust across multiple sectors, not just within the beauty industry.
