Delta's 500kW Ultra-Fast EV Charger Achieves German Certification for Excellence

Delta's 500kW Ultra-Fast EV Charger Receives German Certification

Delta Electronics, a global leader in energy management solutions and IoT-based green technology, has announced a significant achievement: its 500kW ultra-fast EV charger, the UFC 500, has officially received German Eichrecht certification. This milestone signifies that the charger complies with stringent German standards for precise energy measurement and fair billing processes in electric vehicle (EV) charging.

Meeting Stringent Standards

The NFC 500's certification confirms its alignment with the requirements set by the Eichrecht, which governs the calibration of energy meters used by Charge Point Operators (CPOs). The charger ensures that energy consumption is measured accurately, which is critical for both operators and consumers. This certification encompasses the tariff defined by the CPO for charging transactions made through credit card-based ad hoc payment methods. By linking energy consumption with tariff data, the charger enhances transparency and compliance under the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).

Arto Suni, the Head of EV Charging Systems for EMEA at Delta Electronics, stated, "With the UFC500, we not only offer powerful and efficient EV charging but also uphold the highest standards of reliability and transparency. This ensures that CPOs and end-users can trust that energy billing is accurate and compliant with regulations, fostering a seamless and trustworthy EV charging ecosystem."

Innovative Design for Reliability

The UFC 500 charger builds upon the success of its predecessor, the UFC 200, reinforcing Delta's position as one of the few manufacturers to meet these rigorous requirements. It includes both module B approval for design and module D approval for the manufacturing process, emphasizing the high quality from concept to delivery. Designed for reliability in all weather conditions, the UFC 500 is rated at IP55, making it a robust solution for diverse charging environments.

Capable of delivering up to 500 kW of power for a single vehicle or 250 kW for two vehicles simultaneously, it meets the increasing demand for faster charging across applications ranging from passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks. The efficient SiCMOS technology ensures high conversion efficiencies, and its compact, lightweight design simplifies installation and maintenance. The UFC 500 is also integrated seamlessly into existing networks, energy management systems, and backward-compatible infrastructures, making it a future-proof investment.

Leading the Charge for Global Compliance

With a sustained commitment to metrological standards, Delta has solidified its leadership in compliance for electric vehicle charging solutions. The company’s expertise in certified DC charging products positions it at the forefront of regulatory advancements worldwide. As similar regulatory frameworks develop globally, Delta is well-prepared to maintain its leadership in the EV charging landscape.
