Embrace the Spirit of Community at 'The Great Awakening' Easter Celebration in Stonecrest

Join Us for 'The Great Awakening'

This Easter, get ready for an uplifting experience at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, which invites everyone to celebrate a transformative weekend known as 'The Great Awakening.' Scheduled from April 18 to April 20, 2025, this event is designed to bring the community together to honor the Resurrection of Jesus Christ through a mix of worship, community engagement, and family-focused activities.

An Invitation to the Community

As we mark this significant occasion, Senior Pastor Dr. Jamal Bryant emphasizes the importance of community unity and the renewing power of faith. He states, "As we commemorate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we embrace a season of spiritual awakening and renewal." This ambitious initiative aims to inspire our local communities, facilitate reflection and action, and recognize the transformative impact of Christ’s love.

Exciting Events Scheduled

Kicking off the Easter celebration, Good Friday will feature multiple events. The proceedings start with the 'Seven Last Words' service at noon, followed by an electrifying worship experience at 7:30 PM, headlined by Grammy Award-winning gospel artist, Hezekiah Walker. This promises to be a soul-stirring occasion for attendees.

In a strong commitment to community welfare, on Saturday, April 19, New Birth will distribute free Easter dinners to 1,500 families starting at 9 AM—serving those in need on a first-come, first-served basis. Simultaneously, the Community Health Fair will take place in the Family Life Center, offering free health screenings, pediatric checkups, and sports physicals, thanks to a partnership with the Atlanta Medical Association. This initiative highlights the church's commitment to holistic community well-being.

Families will also enjoy a Family Fun Day, featuring local food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, a petting zoo, and more. For those looking for an active engagement, E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness will organize a community workout session on New Birth's football field at 10 AM.

Empowering Local Economies

In response to recent socio-economic challenges, New Birth introduces the Bullseye Black Market, an initiative that runs concurrently with the celebration. This multi-city initiative will showcase 100 local Black-owned businesses, offering the public a direct avenue to support small enterprises and stimulate local economies—a true community-driven effort.

Culminating in Resurrection Sunday

The Great Awakening will culminate with a potent Resurrection Sunday service starting at 9:30 AM. First Lady Dr. Karri Bryant expresses the vision for this weekend by saying, "We want to reflect the power of resurrection through hope, healing, and renewal. This is a divine call to transformation, a stepping stone towards God's purpose for our lives."

This event promises not only to celebrate a significant religious occasion but also to unite the community in shared purpose and support for one another. It reflects an insatiable hunger for connection and the need to uplift our surroundings as we navigate through life together.

In anticipation of this powerful weekend, the church encourages community members to join in and be part of something bigger—an awakening of spirit, purpose, and human connection. Let’s come together to celebrate, uplift, and inspire!
