Genesis Expands Partnership with TGR Foundation
Genesis Motor America has recently taken a significant step to bolster community education by expanding its partnership with the
TGR Foundation at the new
TGR Learning Lab located in
Philadelphia. The initiative aims to enhance education in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) for youth, providing them with invaluable skills and real-world experiences.
On July 7th, 2025, Genesis hosted an enriching STEAM workshop in collaboration with the
Child Creativity Lab. The event allowed middle school students to dive deep into the world of automotive design and technology. Children had the rare opportunity to examine a
Genesis vehicle firsthand and learn about the intricate vehicle design process amidst industry experts and professionals.
Importance of Quality Education
Brandon Ramirez, the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Genesis, stated, "Access to quality education programs is critical to fostering a love for learning and empowering the next generation to excel in STEAM fields." This sentiment underscores the importance of providing children with engaging learning environments where they can thrive.
The TGR Learning Lab in West Philadelphia is devoted to creating such opportunities. The lab aims to grant local students access to an array of educational resources and experiences, boldly igniting their curiosity in STEAM disciplines. The workshop offered students insight into the vehicle development process alongside a demonstration of advanced technology featuring a zero-emission Genesis vehicle, highlighting the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
During the workshop, students engaged in hands-on activities where they conceptualized and crafted their own innovative mobility vehicles using upcycled materials. This hands-on experience not only strengthened their understanding of STEAM subjects but also allowed them to appreciate environmental sustainability in automotive design.
Real-Life Learning Experiences
Hrag Hamalian, President of TGR Learning Labs and National Programs, emphasized the partnership's value by stating, "Thanks to the partnership with Genesis, our students have an incredible opportunity to gain real-life learning experiences in a high demand industry." The partnership aims to better prepare youths for future careers, seamlessly blending education with practical applications.
The TGR Foundation, founded in 1996 by professional golfer
Tiger Woods, is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of young people, particularly those from under-resourced communities. Its mission includes creating safe, inspiring environments that encourage students to pursue their passions through education. The flagship TGR Learning Lab in
Anaheim, California, has already served over
200,000 students with various programs targeted at STEAM education and career readiness.
The newly opened TGR Learning Lab in
West Philadelphia seeks to carry on that legacy by offering similar initiatives. Earlier this year, Genesis also conducted a STEAM workshop and career day at the Anaheim location, connecting students with Genesis employees who shared insights about careers in product planning, design, quality assurance, and engineering.
The Genesis Gives Initiative
The expanded partnership with TGR Foundation aligns with Genesis' broader mission under its
Genesis Gives initiative. This corporate social responsibility program aims to enhance access to sports and STEAM education for youths in underserved communities. Since its inception in 2022, Genesis has generously contributed over
$2 million to support various community initiatives across the United States.
As Genesis continues to grow its educational outreach, it remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of innovators and leaders in the automotive industry and beyond, ensuring students have the support, mentorship, and resources they need to succeed.
