Uhuru's Partnership with Aoyagi Sohonke: A Step into Digital Transformation
In a significant move to embrace modern technology, Uhuru Co., Ltd., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has collaborated with the historic Aoyagi Sohonke Co., Ltd., located in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. Founded 145 years ago, Aoyagi Sohonke is well-known for its traditional sweets, including the famous Aoyagi Uirou and Kaeru Manju. The collaboration marks the beginning of Aoyagi's digital transformation (DX) journey, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency through the adoption of Uhuru's low-code development and operational platform, enebular.
Aoyagi Sohonke has initiated a project aimed at visualizing factory equipment operations, streamlining workflows through the Internet of Things (IoT). However, a significant challenge arose due to a lack of digital talent skilled in software development within the company. This shortage limited their ability to advance their projects effectively, especially concerning the urgent need to update the employee cafeteria usage tracking system as part of their operational overhaul. To address this, Aoyagi Sohonke chose to implement enebular, which enabled them to develop the necessary systems within a short timeframe.
Thanks to Uhuru's support in both the implementation and operation of enebular, the cafeteria tracking system was revamped in just one month. Masashi Baba, a team leader in production management at Aoyagi Sohonke, expressed his satisfaction by stating, "The provided sample was so close to completion that even someone without development experience, like me, could construct it. Uhuru's responsive support during issues was reassuring."
The new system allows employees to simply tap their ID cards on a contactless IC card reader, automatically logging data from the cafeteria devices into Google Sheets via enebular. Previously, data management required manual downloads from the system, but this new streamlined approach significantly enhances efficiency in management and operations. Additionally, the ability to check usage statistics and menu information in real-time fosters enhanced data utilization across the company, facilitating swift implementation of initiatives aimed at reducing food waste.
Buoyed by this successful implementation, Aoyagi Sohonke is now poised to advance its factory IoT efforts, with future plans including utilizing light sensors for defect detection and automated alerts during production line stoppages. Baba further stated, "For companies like us that wish to develop and operate systems without relying on external resources, enebular is the ideal solution. It not only addresses existing system challenges but is also instrumental for future business expansion through IoT."
Uhuru operates under the mission of "Creating a Sustainable Society with Technology and Free Thinking," supporting the digital transformation of corporations, municipalities, and government agencies. Through innovation and the utilization of digital technologies, Uhuru remains committed to solving the challenges faced by businesses and society, contributing to the realization of a sustainable future.
