Lecture Announcement: Collaborative Event by Nishogakusha University
Nishogakusha University is excited to announce a collaborative lecture in partnership with the City of Kurashiki. This event is scheduled to take place on November 2, 2025, at the Kurashiki City Art Museum, located in Okayama Prefecture. Following the cooperation agreement established on March 12, 2016, both entities have come together to present this enriching opportunity.
The lecture will be divided into two parts, featuring distinguished speakers from the university’s Faculty of Literature. In the first part, Yutaka Hasegawa, a lecturer at the Faculty of Literature, will present on the historical aspects of 'Oni' in ancient texts. The second part will see Professor Satoko Koyama also from the Faculty of Literature, discussing the history of monster slaying, particularly focusing on the legendary figure of Momotaro. Attendees will be able to explore the rich cultural tapestry surrounding this beloved folktale.
