Summer Cooking Experience at NIJIN Academy
This summer, NIJIN Academy Komazawa School is excited to announce a series of engaging cooking events designed specifically for children. With an impressive background as an online alternative school for students unable to attend traditional educational institutions, NIJIN Academy has gained a reputation for providing a safe and nurturing space where children can thrive and rediscover their joy of learning.
A New Path for Education
As of September 2023, NIJIN Academy has welcomed approximately 480 students from across the nation, catering to grades from elementary to junior high. In light of the rising number of students who have opted not to attend conventional schools – reaching a peak of over 346,000 students in the past year – NIJIN Academy offers dynamic learning experiences through a hybrid model that combines online instruction with real-world interactions. This unique approach has garnered praise from many parents, who have noted significant improvements in their children's confidence and happiness.
Expanding Our Horizons
Looking ahead to 2024, we are thrilled to announce the grand opening of additional campuses, including our new physical location in Setagaya, Tokyo, scheduled for June 2025. NIJIN Academy Komazawa School will provide even more opportunities for children to engage in hands-on activities, reinforcing the connection between virtual and real-life experiences.
Cooking Classes with Shizue Kano
Led by the inspiring Shizue Kano, the head of NIJIN Academy Komazawa, the summer cooking program aims to encourage children to express themselves creatively while learning valuable skills. Drawing on her extensive experience in the food industry, Kano founded "Ichieto," a cooking school for children that emphasizes the joy of cooking and sharing meals with family.
"I wanted to create a space where kids could truly be themselves and grow in a supportive environment that embraces their unique differences," Kano explains. With this cooking experience, students will have the chance to learn and engage in various culinary activities, offering a wonderful chance for parents to bond with their children over shared cooking experiences.
Schedule and Details for the Experience
The summer cooking experience will take place from
July 29 to August 20, 2025, every day from
