Women for Riley Presents 'Passport to Paris' at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis



Women for Riley is excited to announce the upcoming Riley Prom, a special event dedicated to patients from the Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplant Center. Scheduled for May 1, 2026, at 6:30 PM EST, this year's prom will take place at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, recognized as the largest children's museum globally. This beloved event has been a source of joy for patients and their families since its inception in 2010, with an impressive record of providing over $2.2 million in grant funding to support Riley Children's Health.

A Week of Celebration


The week leading up to the prom will feature various engaging events aimed at uplifting patients and families both in inpatient and outpatient care. This year's theme, 'Passport to Paris,' promises to transport everyone to the magical ambiance of the City of Light, filling the night with excitement and whimsy.

In outlining the significance of the prom, Khadija Evans, Community Learning Navigator at The Children's Museum, shared, “We are honored to host this year's Riley Prom. Our mission is to create extraordinary learning experiences, and we are proud to offer a space where patients can enjoy being kids, dancing, playing, and creating wonderful memories.”

Highlights of the Event


The 'Passport to Paris' prom will host over 1,200 attendees, including patients and their families, granting them exclusive access to the museum for a night filled with memorable experiences. Here are some of the key highlights:
  • - Attendees will enjoy an immersive Parisian-themed experience featuring elaborate decor, games, entertainment, delightful food, and dancing for the whole family.
  • - Thanks to the support from New Shoe Day, every patient and their siblings under 18 will leave with a brand-new pair of shoes. This initiative aims to ensure every child's steps are filled with comfort and confidence as they navigate through their journey.
  • - The prom will also feature a Glam Lounge, where over 100 stylists will provide hair and makeup services to attendees, including special grooming for boys.
  • - Entertainment attractions will include performances by a magician, ballerinas, beloved fairy-tale characters, and caricature artists, adding to the glamorous atmosphere. Notable appearances such as a therapy dog will further brighten the evening.

Special Events Leading Up to the Prom


Prior to the main event, a Parisian Pajama Pamper Party will take place on April 27, welcoming 140 hospital guests to indulge in crafts, snacks, and movie screenings, ensuring every child feels cherished. Each participant will also receive delightful gifts like a Squishmallow toy and Kendra Scott bracelets.
Additionally, 36 interactive gift bags will be delivered to patients in isolation, filled with Paris-themed items that inspire joy and creativity, fostering a sense of normalcy amidst challenging times.

A Collaborative Effort


Megan Mioduski, President of Women for Riley, expressed her enthusiasm by stating, “This week is a culmination of months of hard work and creativity from our dedicated team of over 100 women. We aspire for every family at the prom to feel celebrated and surrounded by joy, supported by the wonderful care teams at Riley.”

As the museum closes to the public at 5 PM to prepare for the prom, attendees can start arriving at 6:30 PM. The Glam Lounge will open from 4-7 PM, making the preparations even more exciting.
