Velvet Taco Reimagines National Taco Day
As National Taco Day approaches, Velvet Taco, a pioneer in fast-casual dining, is taking the celebration to new heights with a unique event that merges bold culinary innovation and artistry. Known for its globally inspired tacos, the Dallas-based chain is hosting an exciting tattoo pop-up session in collaboration with the renowned Dallas tattoo studio, Rebel Muse Tattoo, on
Tuesday, October 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.. This distinctive approach aims not just to satisfy your appetite but also to captivate your spirit.
A Bold Idea in Culinary Celebration
On this special day, taco enthusiasts can gather at Velvet Taco's Greenville Avenue location to witness live tattoo artistry. The first guests will be able to line up for a chance to receive taco-themed tattoos designed by talented artists from Rebel Muse. Commencing at 2 p.m., those brave enough can step up to receive free, taco-inspired tattoo designs from a custom flash sheet, adding a permanent flair to their love for tacos. Guests looking to earn a year of free tacos will want to be the first to get inked with the
Velvet Taco brooch logo tattoo.
In addition to the permanent body art, Velvet Taco will be giving away temporary tattoos at all locations across the country to celebrate the day, letting guests express their taco love without the commitment of real ink.
Introducing the Japanese Fusion Taco
Aligning with this tattoo event is the exciting debut of the
Japanese Katsu Curry taco, a culinary masterpiece created by guest chef Ryan from College Station, Texas. This taco was selected as the winning entry in the fourth annual
Weekly Taco Feature (WTF) Recipe Contest. Combining the deliciousness of Japanese cuisine with the beloved taco format, this fusion dish features crunchy
panko chicken tenders, flavorful
Japanese curry, and fresh toppings such as
pickled daikon,
carrots, and
buttered cilantro basmati rice. It’s not just a taco; it's a delightful experience wrapped in a soft flour tortilla, ready to tantalize your taste buds.
A Celebration of Community
Brooke Perry, Velvet Taco's Vice President of Marketing, articulates the essence of this innovative celebration: "Velvet Taco isn't just another restaurant serving unique food — it's a full-scale culinary rebellion that transforms every taco into a memorable guest experience in its relentless quest to break free from the traditional." This captivating tattoo event showcases the rebellious spirit of Velvet Taco, encouraging guests to get involved in a celebration that extends beyond food.
In conjunction with the festive atmosphere, Velvet Taco will also launch a
Taco Week Challenge for its loyal Velvet Room members. Running from
October 5 to 11, participants who purchase a taco during this period will be rewarded with a free taco, redeemable starting
October 13 through
October 17, ensuring that the celebrations continue long after the tacos are done.
Further Engagement and Giveaways
Additionally, from
October 7 to 10, Velvet Taco will host an Instagram giveaway, providing 15 lucky winners from various Velvet Taco markets with a gift card for a taco tattoo of their choice. This interactive component not only engages customers but also enhances the brand's community spirit.
