FLUX CAFE: A New Chapter in Culinary Experience
FLUX CAFE, located in the fashionable Daikanyama neighborhood of Tokyo, has announced an exciting transformation as it approaches its 10th anniversary. This beloved spot, which opened its doors in October 2015, will relaunch on
October 1, 2025, as a collaboration café with
Oishii Oto, renowned for its nutritious and homemade bento filled with an abundance of vegetables. This partnership aims to promote healthy eating and balanced nutrition, aligning perfectly with the café's mission.
The name ‘FLUX’ signifies
'flow', embodying the essence of both the café and the integrated training solutions provided by
FLUX CONDITIONINGS. The philosophy behind this concept is akin to the smooth flow of water and air, ensuring that the circulatory and lymphatic systems function optimally. The café provides meals designed to support this balanced state—encouraging not only physical well-being but mental harmony as well.
At the heart of FLUX CAFE’s menu is the
'Ichi-jyu-san-sai' style meal, considered ideal in Japanese cuisine for its nutritional balance. Diners can choose from
17 different dishes, all crafted with daily ingredients, ensuring each visit brings a delightful homemade taste. Signature dishes include the
charcoal-grilled demi-glace hamburger,
crispy chicken karaage, and
chicken nanban, with exclusive offerings for the Daikanyama location, like the local delicacy,
tai-meshi—a flavorful dish combining sashimi of sea bream with a special soy sauce mix, egg, and condiments served over warm rice.
Moreover, health-conscious guests can enjoy a tofu hamburger made from chicken breast, providing a protein-rich yet light option.
Prices for these dishes start at
¥2,200 (tax excluded) for tai-meshi, while the demi-glace hamburger with rice, soup, salad, and pickles is priced at
¥1,800. Chicken nanban is offered at
¥1,600, and the tofu hamburger is available for
¥1,700.
Another highlight of the café's menu is the
Matela Pork Ton-Pecky, where the unique pork, raised on silica mineral powder feed, boasts a healthier profile with a rich flavor without the excess fat. The miso soup accompanying the
Ichi-jyu-san-sai meals uses
mugi miso, a typically rare variant representing only 3.8% of Japan's miso production, praised for its mild sweetness and depth of flavor due to its high koji ratio. This variety is known for enhancing gut health and boosting beneficial bacteria populations, making it a nourishing choice.
Each
Ichi-jyu-san-sai meal set includes a main dish, rice, miso soup, two vegetable-centric side dishes, and a colorful salad with pickles, ensuring diners can enjoy over
10 types of vegetables in one meal. Guests can switch white rice for brown rice for an additional
¥100.
In addition to eating in,
11 menu items are available as takeout options, and soon, FLUX CAFE will join delivery platforms
UBER and
Rocket Now, allowing customers to savor their meals at home. Dishes like
saba miso-nabe and
matela pork ton-pecky are priced at
¥1,500 each when ordered as a bento.
The café also serves a variety of Western dishes, including
meat doria,
chicken and mushroom cream pasta, and a
gluten-free spice vegetable curry. There's even a
protein plate featuring chicken breast, broccoli, and boiled eggs, tailored for gym-goers alongside a
matcha protein drink blended with banana, spinach, and blueberries, defining a new standard in healthy dining.
Opening Campaign
To celebrate the reopening, FLUX CAFE will hold a
special opening campaign! The first
250 customers who visit on October 1 will receive a pack of
Yasumar—a traditional, additive-free Japanese seasoning mix. Furthermore, customers with orders more than
¥2,000 will get a complimentary pack of
Iyo Miso, made from 100% domestically sourced soybeans and barley.
The space designed by
Kazuki Sato, a creative director known for his work with Uniqlo, balances simplicity and warmth, creating an inviting environment for guests. The menu also features delightful beverages from
BRANCH COFFEE, known for their commitment to quality, and there are electrical outlets at every seat to accommodate remote work or meetings. While only six seats on the terrace are pet-friendly, the café invites all visitors to drop by and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere.
Opening hours run from
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a morning special from
9:00 to 11:00, where all drinks are
¥200 off when ordered with food, and there is a free brown rice option.
FLUX CAFE is set to be the go-to spot for nutritious, satisfying meals any time of the day. Come and experience a quintessential balance of food and wellness in Daikanyama!
