Introducing Exclusive Collaborative Backpacks by PORTER CLASSIC and OKURA

Exclusive Collaboration: PORTER CLASSIC x OKURA

In an exciting new partnership, esteemed brands PORTER CLASSIC and OKURA have announced their first collaboration, unveiling a limited edition series of backpacks that harmoniously blend craftsmanship and innovation. This unique collection features two models - the NEWTON CITY RUCKSACK and the NEWTON BUSINESS RUCKSACK - each designed to cater to different lifestyles while showcasing signature materials and techniques from both brands.

The NEWTON series, a product of three years of development, incorporates the revolutionary 'muatsu' bedding technology from long-established bedding manufacturer Showa Nishikawa into its shoulder harness for an unparalleled carrying experience. This forward-thinking design ensures optimal weight distribution, making these backpacks a perfect choice for urban explorers and business professionals alike.

NEWTON CITY RUCKSACK

Available for 77,000 yen (tax included), the NEWTON CITY RUCKSACK makes a strong first impression with its durable Cordura nylon exterior. Built to withstand wear and tear, it features multiple pockets for organization, catering to a variety of needs. Its compact size is particularly user-friendly for women and children, fitting seamlessly into daily urban life.

This model also embodies the artisanal quality synonymous with OKURA. An intricately hand-embroidered Heart in Yan patch, dyed using natural materials sourced from the Noto region in Ishikawa, adds a personal touch. Additionally, the handle features a cover crafted from leftover fabric from BLUE BLUE JAPAN, with a snap-button design for easy attachment and removal.

On one side, the main zipper pull is adorned with a small heart embroidery, while the shoulder harness displays OKURA's iconic Heart in Yan label. Inside, a special 'ARIGATO' tag rounds out the attention to detail, ensuring that this backpack is not only functional but also a unique piece of art.

NEWTON BUSINESS RUCKSACK

Also priced at 77,000 yen (tax included), the NEWTON BUSINESS RUCKSACK is perfect for professionals on the go. Constructed with the same resilient Cordura nylon, this model offers ample space to accommodate a 15-inch laptop along with various organizational pockets designed to streamline your daily commute or business trips.

Just like its counterpart, this backpack showcases modified designs tailored for efficiency while easing the strain on the shoulders and back during extended use.

The right pocket features a hand-embroidered Heart in Yan patch made with Noto-grown materials. The handletop includes the same innovative fabric derived from BLUE BLUE JAPAN's leftover materials, ensuring sustainability in each stitch. Just as in the CITY model, this bag features small heart embroidery on one side of the main zipper pull, with the same iconic branding and 'ARIGATO' details throughout.

Both backpacks reflect a merging of styles and technologies from PORTER CLASSIC and OKURA, offering exclusive designs that are as functional as they are stunning.

Available for pre-order starting April 21, 2025, these limited edition backpacks will eventually be available in stores from May 16, 2025.
