A New Era in Travel Loyalty
Marriott International and Japan Airlines (JAL) have made significant strides to expand their previous partnership, promising their members a range of new perks that cover both flights and accommodations. This collaboration marks the first substantial step for Marriott Bonvoy to engage with a Japanese airline, and for JAL, it is their inaugural strategic partnership with a global hotel group.
This enhanced alliance allows members to enjoy a seamless experience that stretches from airline travel to hotel stays. They will benefit from a new mutual status match, making it easier to attain high-tier membership benefits across both platforms. Members of the Marriott Bonvoy program and JAL's Mileage Bank can gain access to exclusive advantages, enriching their travel experience like never before.
Benefits for Marriott Bonvoy Members
Marriott Bonvoy members will automatically earn JAL's FLY ON points simply by linking their accounts. The total number of points earned can vary depending on the elite membership status, with higher-tier members enjoying more significant rewards. Notably, Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite members will receive automatic upgrades to JAL's Crystal membership or higher, depending on their existing FLY ON points. This allows them enhanced recognition and privileges in their travels.
Advantages for JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) Members
On the other hand, JMB members will seamlessly join the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program. This connection provides quick opportunities for status matches and accelerated elite qualifications, allowing for a richer travel experience. Members will gain access to over 10,000 participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels and resorts worldwide. They can also enjoy perks such as room upgrades and late check-out, exclusive to elite members. Furthermore, JMB Sapphire members and above will automatically receive corresponding Marriott Bonvoy elite qualifications, ensuring they benefit equally from this partnership.
