Adena Health's Commitment to Innovation
Adena Health, located in Chillicothe, Ohio, has once again established itself as a leader in healthcare technology innovation, being recognized with the Digital Health Most Wired Award for the fourth consecutive year by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). This accolade emphasizes the importance of innovative technology in enhancing the experiences of both patients and employees.
Chief Information Officer Jamie Smith highlighted the focus of Adena’s technical services team on how technology impacts the care experience for both employees and patients. Smith noted, "The true heart of what we're trying to do at Adena is to enhance the patient and caregiver experience across the board. We are committed to continuing our shift toward more innovative approaches. While we are enthusiastic about technology, we consistently keep our focus on the individuals and communities we serve."
Adena Health achieved a remarkable Level 8 recognition on both the acute and ambulatory side of a 10-level scale in CHIME’s survey, outshining nearly 48,000 facilities evaluated. This high ranking is attributed to their effective use of analytics and data management, population health strategies, technology infrastructure, and patient engagement – all critical aspects of modern healthcare.
The recognition from CHIME serves as an affirmation of Adena's exceptional commitment to digital health excellence. CHIME President and CEO Russ Branzell stated, "We are proud to recognize Adena's exceptional dedication to digital health excellence. Its pioneering performance in the industry not only inspires other organizations by example but also enhances the quality of care received by patients."
Smith attributes this achievement to a blend of talented team members within Adena’s technical services and the strong support provided by health system leadership. Such a foundation allows Adena to implement innovative strategies aimed at enhancing patient care and experience. Future initiatives in nursing and the overall patient room experience are expected to advance further.
Emerging technologies are poised to reshape healthcare over the next three decades, and the CHIME awards intend to guide organizations in establishing strategic roadmaps that successfully navigate these transitions.
