Kia America Achieves Historic Sales Milestone in October
Kia America has made headlines by recording its highest-ever sales in October, selling a staggering 69,002 units. This impressive achievement positions the company strongly to potentially reach its highest annual sales volume for the third consecutive year. The increase in sales can be attributed to retail sales at Kia dealerships, which have risen by 8% year-to-date compared to 2024. As of now, Kia has sold 705,150 units in 2025, representing an 8% increase in sales from the previous year.
Among the models leading this sales surge are the Kia Carnival, Sportage, and K5, which have all set sales records for October. Notably, several other Kia models, including the Niro, Carnival, K5, Seltos, and Sportage, experienced significant year-over-year sales increases of 75%, 35%, 31%, 32%, and 17%, respectively. These results highlight the growing popularity of Kia's diverse lineup, further evidenced by a 16% increase in sales of electrified models and a modest 2% increase in SUVs compared to the same time last year.
Eric Watson, the Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, expressed optimism about the company's performance despite the challenges facing the automotive industry. He noted, "Kia is focused on long-term growth by offering our customers a diverse range of models that provide exceptional value. We remain on track to achieve our third consecutive annual sales record."
Exciting developments are on the horizon for Kia, as the debut of the second-generation Telluride SUV is scheduled for this month at the Los Angeles Auto Show. To build anticipation, Kia has released camouflaged images of the new model, which is poised to meet customer expectations. The Telluride holds a special place in Kia's history, being the first vehicle designed specifically for the U.S. market and earning multiple prestigious awards, including the World Car of the Year and North American Utility Vehicle of the Year.
Moreover, Kia has launched a creative campaign celebrating the Telluride's transformative power, emphasizing its pivotal role in redefining the Kia brand. The discontinuation of the Kia Soul, recognized as a symbol of Kia's historic transformation, marks the end of an era. Over the years, the Soul has sold over 1.5 million units in the U.S. since its introduction in 2009, attracting a younger audience with its unique design and cheerful personality. The last Soul will roll off production lines at the end of the 2025 model year.
