Students Rebuild Celebrates 15 Years of Global Youth Empowerment Through Creative Action

Celebrating a Milestone: Students Rebuild

On September 16, 2025, Students Rebuild, an initiative born from the efforts of the Bezos Family Foundation and now empowered by Creative Visions, proudly marks its 15th anniversary. This notable achievement recognizes the commitment of over 1 million young individuals who participated in this transformative movement aimed at addressing pressing global issues through creativity. With $16.6 million raised and 7 million artworks produced, the program reflects the magnitude of its impact across various communities worldwide.

In conjunction with this celebration, Students Rebuild has launched the 2025-2026 Unique United project, inviting young people everywhere to utilize creative action as a medium for self-expression, identity exploration, and fostering connections. This initiative runs until June 1, 2026, allowing students, youth leaders, educators, and parents to participate actively. The platform offers comprehensive resources, including lesson plans and creative toolkits, and encourages submissions of creative works that can generate funding for vital organizations focusing on connection and collaborative change. Each submission contributes to a significant goal, triggering a donation of $5 for every engaged student, with an aim to raise up to $1 million.

According to Pat Chandler, CEO of Creative Visions, “In today's society, young people confront a landscape filled with division and uncertainty. They are eager to connect with others and understand their own identities. This year's Unique United project enables students to embrace their individuality, challenge preconceived notions, and empathize through creative expression.”

What is Students Rebuild?

Founded in the wake of the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010, Students Rebuild is more than just a project; it is a global movement that seeks to mobilize the creativity of youth in addressing the world’s most urgent crises. Through the years, the initiative has effectively galvanized participation in all 50 U.S. states and over 100 countries. Its focus has ranged from tackling issues such as climate change and migration to confronting the impacts of conflict and war.

This year, Students Rebuild has partnered with several global impact organizations across locations like Honduras, Ukraine, Greece, Kenya, and Los Angeles, all committed to promoting uniqueness, fostering unity, and enlarging the scope of arts-based education and youth empowerment.
