Esaote Reinforces Presence in the Netherlands
On September 17, 2025, Esaote - a leading global company in the field of medical diagnostic imaging - celebrated the opening of its new offices in Maastricht, Netherlands. This significant event underscores Esaote's commitment to the region where it has established a strong presence over the past thirty years.
Esaote's new office marks both a renewal and an affirmation of the company's dedication to Maastricht and the Netherlands as a whole. The company operates four distinct units including Esaote Europe B.V. and Pie Medical Imaging B.V., both situated in Maastricht, as well as 3mensio Medical Imaging B.V. in Utrecht and Proton B.V. in Sittard. Together, these entities employ a total of 155 staff members.
Going forward, Esaote plans to continue its growth trajectory by developing innovative solutions in the field of ultrasound and medical IT. The focus is particularly on software solutions for interventional cardiologists and heart surgeons, including advancements in cardiac structural imaging, endovascular analysis, and preoperative sizing and planning.
The forthcoming business plan involves a substantial investment of approximately 10 million euros for research and development activities over the next five years, starting in 2026. The goal is to expand the range of medical IT solutions catered to the cardiology sector, which is expected to result in a 50% increase in employment.
Founded in Italy in the early 1980s, Esaote has emerged as one of the world's foremost companies specializing in diagnostic imaging, particularly in ultrasound, MRI, and medical IT. The company currently employs around 1,300 people, maintains 15 subsidiaries, and possesses a sales network that spans over 100 countries worldwide.
