Choose Your Voting Pen: A Unique Event to Boost Election Awareness

Vote Pen Selection: Choose Your Voting Pen!

In preparation for the House of Councillors election on July 20, Tokyo's Election Management Committee is launching a campaign titled 'Vote Pen Selection'. This event, designed to enhance awareness among young adults and professionals regarding the importance of voting, will take place from July 7 to July 20 at four Tsutaya bookstores in Tokyo. Participants can engage in choosing their ideal voting pen through various activities that make the voting process relatable and personal.

What is the 'Vote Pen Selection' Event?

The 'Vote Pen Selection' presents an exciting opportunity for attendees to explore a collection of recommended pens for voting, expertly curated by Tsutaya’s stationery concierges. This initiative allows individuals to experience the act of voting as a personal endeavor, encouraging them to reflect on their choices before the election.

One of the highlights of the event is the interactive exhibit known as the 'Tamashigaki Sangiinsen'. This innovative feature enables users to draw a line through decorative patterns, revealing words related to elections as they write. This simple act of marking underscores the transition from viewing voting as a task to recognizing it as a meaningful expression of their will. This refined definition of the voting process shifts the focus to the personal significance of making one’s voice heard.

At each participating location, visitors will have the chance to receive a limited-edition specially designed bookmark pen featuring the cheerful mascot for the upcoming election, Meisui-kun. This fun, pop-art character embodies the energy of democracy, further encouraging attendees to engage with the voting process in a light-hearted manner.
