Wingstop Takes Action to Support Texas Communities After Natural Disasters

Wingstop's Commitment to Community Support

In light of the recent natural disasters that have afflicted Texas, Wingstop Inc., listed under NASDAQ as WING, has stepped up its commitment to assist affected communities. The company announced a two-pronged initiative aimed at providing much-needed support to those impacted by these unfortunate events.

Fundraising Initiatives

Wingstop is launching a special campaign where customers can round up their orders at checkout on the Wingstop website or app. This initiative, running this month, allows patrons to donate the rounded amount directly to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, with 100% of the contributions directed toward aiding not only Texas but also other regions nationwide. The company has made a commitment to match all donations received up to $1 million, reflecting a robust dedication to communal support.

On July 15, the company will host a statewide event known as Family Flavor Day. During this day, 15% of total sales from all Texas Wingstop locations will be contributed to the American Red Cross. The collaborative effort on Family Flavor Day aims to further amplify the fundraising impact, with Wingstop promising to match every dollar donated during this initiative—up to a substantial $500,000.

Leadership's Compassionate Response

Expressing his thoughts on the situation, Wingstop's President and CEO, Michael Skipworth, stated, "We are heartbroken by the devastation caused by natural disasters sweeping Texas, and we remain grateful for the heroism of first responders in impacted areas. Texas is our home, and supporting our people and the communities we serve is the Wingstop Way. We’re proud to stand alongside our guests with this effort." This sentiment underscores the company's ongoing commitment to its home state and a dedication to fostering resilience within the community.

Immediate Assistance Through Meal Deliveries

In conjunction with the fundraising efforts, Wingstop will also be providing support through meal deliveries to local organizations that are actively participating in on-the-ground relief efforts. This approach highlights the company's understanding of the immediate needs faced by those displaced or affected by the disasters. By partnering with community organizations, Wingstop aims not only to provide physical nourishment but also to offer emotional support during this challenging time.

Wingstop: A Legacy of Flavor and Responsibility

Founded in 1994 and based in Dallas, TX, Wingstop has flourished into a beloved brand, operating and franchising over 2,650 locations worldwide.
