The ceremony was attended by local heroes, including officers from various law enforcement agencies and firefighters from Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue. Each honoree received the prestigious
Medal of Valor Award, a recognition designed to honor individuals who exhibit valiant acts of service and unwavering commitment to their communities.
Recognizing Act of Valor
The award ceremony began with a
welcome reception, setting a warm and celebratory atmosphere. Guests, including supporters, families, and fellow first responders, gathered to honor the extraordinary service of the nominees.
Andy Mitchell, Chairman of the Board for BSAC, expressed his gratitude: "We had the honor of recognizing the moments when first responders step forward and make decisions that change lives. Our organization is committed to making sure they are supported every day they put on their uniform.”
Valerie Silverman, the Executive Director of BSAC, added, “My team and I review each incident report and see firsthand what these brave men and women endure daily, often with minimal recognition. They risk their lives for our communities, and we want them to know that there is an organization that stands behind them.”
