Speyside Equity Expands Its Investment Team

In a significant move to bolster its investment strategies, Speyside Equity Advisers LLC, based in Detroit, has recently welcomed three new Principals to its investment team: Kyle Cash, Marcus Badger, and Nathan Quattrochi. This strategic addition reflects the firm’s ongoing dedication to expanding its process-driven methodology aimed at acquiring and improving lower middle-market manufacturing businesses throughout North America.

The newly appointed Principals come with a wealth of experience and expertise that will enhance Speyside’s commitment to its recently launched $300 million fund, which encountered substantial demand from both existing and new limited partners. This fund underscores Speyside's mission to create value within its portfolio through disciplined investment and operational excellence.

Profiles of the New Principals

Kyle Cash joins Speyside as a Principal, where he will oversee due diligence and transaction execution, alongside managing portfolio aspects. Previously, Kyle has held prominent roles, most recently as a Senior Vice President at Erie Street Growth Partners. His career path has also included positions at Glencoe Capital and Deloitte Corporate Finance. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, equipping him with the skills required to navigate complex financial landscapes.

Marcus Badger brings over 18 years of experience in principal investing and private credit to the table. Before his tenure at Speyside, he was a Managing Director at Deerpath Capital Management, and he has held investment roles at Raymond James Capital and Frontenac Company. Marcus has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, coupled with an MBA from the prestigious Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. His extensive background in financial analysis and investment strategy is expected to drive substantial growth within the firm.

Nathan Quattrochi steps into the role of Principal, concentrating on due diligence, transaction execution, and investment management. He brings experience from his previous position as a Vice President at Industrial Opportunity Partners and started his career in the Industrials Investment Banking Group at Wells Fargo Securities. Nathan graduated with Honors with a B.A. in Finance from Michigan State University, serving as a solid foundation for his capabilities in assessing investment opportunities and executing transactions.

Strategic Focus of Speyside Equity

According to Eric Wiklendt, Managing Director at Speyside, the inclusion of Kyle, Marcus, and Nathan significantly enhances the firm's ability to execute complex transactions and foster structured, repeatable value creation across its portfolio. Their collective experience in middle-market transactions aligns closely with Speyside's investment strategy, aiming to scale operations and improve profitability for the businesses it acquires.

Speyside Equity aims to partner with management teams in the lower middle market, focusing particularly on manufacturing and value-added distribution businesses.
