LG Electronics Achieves Remarkable Recognition in 2025
LG Electronics has once again reaffirmed its status as a leader in design innovation. In 2025, the company garnered an impressive total of 100 accolades from three of the world's most revered design competitions: the Red Dot Design Award, the iF Design Award, and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). This recognition underscores LG's relentless commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences and groundbreaking product designs.
Major Wins at the Red Dot Design Award
At the 2025 Red Dot Design Award ceremony, LG further showcased its prowess by winning 12 awards in the prestigious Brands & Communication Design category. Among the honorees, the company was celebrated for the outstanding user experience design of its LG ThinQ smart home platform, alongside its webOS smart TV platform. The design of the FURON symbol, encapsulating the warmth and care offered by LG’s “empathetic intelligence” agent, also took home accolades.
The Red Dot Design Award acknowledges excellence across three categories: Product Design, Design Concept, and Brands & Communication Design. The Brands & Communication category is dedicated to innovations that enhance user convenience and efficiency. In addition to the awards received this year, LG earned a coveted Best of the Best distinction in the Product Design category for its varied range of appliances and technologies, including refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, and commercial robots.
Notable Products Recognized
Specific products that stood out at the Red Dot awards included a versatile collection of home appliances and consumer electronics. LG's groundbreaking DUOBO capsule coffee machine—which embodies innovative technology for personalized coffee solutions—was recognized in the Design Concept category. This product exemplifies LG’s dedication to creating solutions that cater to modern consumer lifestyles.
Celebrating Achievements at the IDEA Awards
LG's triumphs extended beyond the Red Dot Awards, as the company received 16 accolades at the IDEA Awards, curated by the distinguished Industrial Designers Society of America. A highlight was the LG SIGNATURE OLED T, the world’s first transparent and wireless OLED television. This product features the unique ability to switch between transparent and opaque modes via remote control, further showcasing LG's commitment to blending form with function.
Other noteworthy products acknowledged at the IDEA ceremony included the innovative LG SIGNATURE refrigerator featuring Smart InstaView™ technology, the LG ARTCOOL air conditioner designed for maximum comfort, and the versatile LG StanbyME 2. Each of these represents LG’s pursuit of integrating advanced technology with user-centric designs.
Achievements at the iF Design Award
Earlier this year, LG was also recognized at the iF Design Award 2025, grabbing a total of 36 awards, including a prestigious Gold Award. The company excelled in various categories such as Product Design, Communication, UX, UI, and Packaging. The design of LG's AI home hub, LG ThinQ ON, and the QNED TV—with its immersive viewing experience—were among the top winners.
This year’s accolades also included the LG ThinQ Character, an interface designed to engage users in a friendly, human-like manner via the ThinQ app. The LG Iconography (UI) system, a cohesive visual strategy for conveying product features and services, was recognized for its intuitive design.
