BEAMS JAPAN's Exciting 10th Anniversary Celebrations
In spring 2026, BEAMS JAPAN will mark a significant milestone, celebrating 10 years of showcasing Japan's unique culture and products. On March 7, 2026, the brand will launch a permanent store in the heart of Kyoto's Gion District. This new location will be the 11th store in the BEAMS JAPAN lineup. Alongside this, there will be two limited-time pop-up stores opening in Morioka and Shinagawa later in March, further extending the brand's reach across the country.
New Gion Store: A Cultural Gem
The upcoming BEAMS JAPAN Gion store will occupy a prime location on Shijo Street, just across from the famous Yasaka Shrine and situated within the first floor of the Kanji Museum and Library. This strategic placement ensures that it will attract both tourists and locals looking to experience the traditional and modern aspects of Japanese culture. This store will be operated in partnership with local business, iina, further emphasizing the community collaboration focus of the BEAMS JAPAN initiative.
In collaboration with local artisans, the Gion store will also feature exclusive items that highlight the unique craftsmanship and cultural heritage of Kyoto. For instance, customers can find beautifully designed items such as the Kyoto Uchiwa fans priced at ¥2,750, as well as handmade clogs from Gion Naitō, priced at ¥46,200. Each item is a testament to the rich cultural tapestry that Kyoto is known for, making them perfect souvenirs for visitors.
Pop-Up Stores Bringing Local Culture
In addition to the permanent store in Gion, BEAMS JAPAN will also host a pop-up store in Morioka, opening on March 14 and running until May 31, 2026. The Morioka location is hosted in the historical Iwate Bank Red Brick Hall, a landmark known for its architectural significance. The Morioka pop-up aims to feature cultural products that represent the region effectively. Notable items from local businesses, like the Chagu Chagu Umakko memorabilia priced at ¥2,970, will be available, highlighting the connection between traditional crafts and modern consumerism.
On March 19, BEAMS JAPAN will open its pop-up store at Shinagawa Station, catering to domestic travel needs with a selection of unique items suitable for travelers. This tiny yet prominent kiosk space will offer various souvenirs, giving visitors a taste of local culture. Signature products, such as the N700typeA T-shirt priced at ¥7,480, will attract attention among Shinkansen travelers.
Nationwide BEAMS JAPAN POP UP TOUR
Kicking off in April 2026, the BEAMS JAPAN POP UP TOUR will enable fans across the nation to explore popular items from BEAMS JAPAN. The tour will visit ten cities, including Sapporo, Sendai, and Kobe, introducing local specialties and unique creations at a series of pop-up stores until February 2027. This initiative highlights BEAMS JAPAN's commitment to sharing the varied offerings of Japan's diverse regions, with specific schedules planned for each location.
This anniversary project stands as a collaborative effort between BEAMS JAPAN and local communities, reinforcing the brand's dedication to preserving and promoting Japan’s cultural heritage. As they expand their presence in iconic locations like Gion, Morioka, and Shinagawa, BEAMS JAPAN is poised to continue inspiring both local and international audiences with the richness of Japanese artistry and craftsmanship.
