Experience SHUN SUDO's 'Garden' at GINZA Contemporary Art Stage

From August 6 to September 1, 2025, the GINZA Contemporary Art Stage will proudly host a solo exhibition titled "Garden" by the renowned contemporary artist SHUN SUDO. This marks the closing event of a series of six exhibitions that have showcased a variety of talented artists in a luxurious setting.

SHUN SUDO, who has garnered international acclaim since his first solo exhibition in New York in 2015, is celebrated for his vibrant acrylic artworks. His iconic motif, the "BUTTON FLOWER," symbolizes the connection between different cultures and people, which has resonated worldwide. Collaborations with prestigious brands, such as SONY, PORSCHE, and CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN, further highlight his artistic impact.

In addition to his creative endeavors, SUDO is committed to charity work. In 2023, he designed a charity T-shirt for a 24-hour television event in Japan. He also showcased his work at Ryoan-ji Temple in Kyoto, creating a piece titled "ETERNAL MOMENT" that bridges Japanese culture and contemporary art.

The Special Connection to Ginza

For SUDO, the district of Ginza holds a special place in his heart. He fondly recalls being taken there by his grandmother as a child, where everything sparkled with life. His childhood memories of Ginza inspire the theme of this exhibition—"Garden." SUDO aims to fill Ginza with colorful flowers, reflecting his hopes and emotions.

The works displayed in "Garden" are a continuation of his oil paintings which he has been developing since last year. Each piece tells a story imbued with vitality, representing SUDO's journey as an artist while inviting viewers to experience a world that is both new and nostalgically familiar.

Artist Profile

Born in Tokyo in 1977, SHUN SUDO learned art independently while traveling across the globe. His earlier exhibitions, particularly the notable "2020" during the pandemic, placed him in the limelight, as his poignant works resonated widely. His exhibitions continue to convey messages of hope and joy, a testament to the enduring power of art.

In March 2024, he will expand his artistic ventures with the launch of the BUTTON FLOWER BLOSSOMS collection, a collaboration with the French luxury brand CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN.
