Freedom Holding Corp. Advances AI Infrastructure Development in Kazakhstan
Freedom Holding Corp. Accelerates AI Infrastructure in Kazakhstan
In a significant move towards establishing an advanced AI infrastructure in Kazakhstan, Freedom Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: FRHC) is set to implement a multi-faceted program that includes the construction of a massive $2 billion Sovereign AI Hub and a public GPU cloud service expected to launch in 2027. This initiative aims to broaden access to essential computing resources for enterprises, developers, and public institutions within the region.
The Sovereign AI Hub
Freedom's ambitious Sovereign AI Hub is rooted in an agreement signed with the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan back in November 2025. The hub will feature a power capacity of 100 MW, marking a significant step forward in the nation’s digital transformation. As the lead financial and operational partner, Freedom is tasked with the hub's deployment and management.
This facility is expected to support the training of AI models and handle extensive data processing while offering services aimed at both the economy and public administration. It will facilitate organizations in developing and running applications without the burden of establishing an in-house server infrastructure.
CEO Timur Turlov stated that the current demand for services at the hub already exceeds double its intended initial capacity. Notably, several major potential clients have expressed interest in reserving future capacities for a span of five years.
Public GPU Cloud Launch
The company's plans also include the introduction of its first GPU cluster, slated for public access by 2027. This development will empower businesses and developers by providing necessary computational power to manage their AI workloads effectively. Furthermore, the Freedom AI Super Cluster is in the pipeline, aimed at serving government entities, businesses, and academic institutions, with a phased rollout beginning in the first quarter of 2027.
A new data center under Freedom Cloud is currently under construction near Almaty, which is already providing services to over 3,400 clients across both the private and public sectors.
Freedom's Diverse Technology Ecosystem
Freedom Holding Corp. is creating a comprehensive international technology ecosystem that spans various sectors, including banking, securities trading, insurance, and telecommunications, in addition to lifestyle services such as ticket sales, travel, e-commerce, and food delivery.
On October 23, 2026, Turlov had a pivotal meeting in Astana with Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, during his inaugural visit to Kazakhstan. This occasion was a prime opportunity for Turlov to showcase Freedom's technology ecosystem alongside the company’s ambitious plans regarding AI infrastructure.
A Growing Talent Pool
During the meeting, Turlov highlighted Kazakhstan's robust talent pool which is already engaged in the development of technologies in e-commerce and finance. He emphasized that the combination of local AI infrastructure will serve as a key advantage for the country amidst the global digital transformation landscape. Freedom’s role is pivotal in providing essential infrastructure that will enhance the development of local expertise in AI applications and digital products.
Through substantial investments in computing power and cloud services, Freedom aims to assist enterprises and developers in transforming local expertise into innovative AI solutions and digital offerings. These initiatives collectively position Kazakhstan to advance in the digital economy, ultimately aiming to create a sustainable ecosystem for artificial intelligence and tech innovation in the region.
