Harvard's New Career Transition Initiative
This June, Harvard University's Division of Continuing Education (DCE) will introduce an innovative low-cost online program tailored for professionals facing displacement due to redundancies, economic shifts, or corporate restructuring. This initiative seeks to empower participants as they navigate a challenging job market and rediscover their sense of purpose and direction in their careers.
The program, titled
Rebuilding Your Career After Job Loss: Bouncing Back with Confidence and Positivity, spans four weeks and is designed specifically for individuals who have not had to search for a new job in years.
Nancy Coleman, Dean of DCE, emphasized the importance of such a program: "In times like these, this kind of support is not just helpful — it's necessary. We developed this program with the realities of today's economy in mind. It's about equipping people not just to find a new job but to regain a sense of identity and strength."
Program Highlights
The course consists of weekly live sessions that cover essential topics for those seeking to transition into new roles, such as personal identity during career changes, upskilling opportunities, goal-setting techniques, and navigating the contemporary hiring landscape. Graduates of the program will receive a certificate upon completion, helping them to bolster their resumes and enhance their employability.
