Innovative Edge AI Inference Solution By AIC and Unigen Revealed at CES 2025
AIC, a prominent player in the design and manufacturing of industrial storage and server solutions, has made waves at CES 2025 with the introduction of their latest technological marvel: the EB202-CP-UG Edge AI Inference solution. This innovative server is designed in collaboration with Unigen Corporation and is engineered to handle over 400 trillion operations per second (TOPS).
The EB202-CP-UG is built around AIC's robust EB202-CP model, a 2U Genoa-based storage server, and it elevates AI computing to unprecedented levels. The significant enhancement comes from the server's configuration featuring eight Unigen Biscotti E1.S AI modules, strategically replacing traditional E1.S SSDs. This alteration not only elevates cooling efficiency, but it also maximizes performance per watt, vital for long-term operational efficiency.
Paul W. Heng, Unigen's Founder and CEO, expressed optimism for this partnership, noting it leverages the best of both companies. He stated, “Our collaboration with AIC allows for seamless integration of our advanced AI technology into their superior storage servers.” Meanwhile, Michael Liang, AIC's President and CEO, emphasized the strategic advantage gained by collaborating with Unigen, which has enabled them to enhance their offerings in the AI landscape significantly.
At the heart of this solution is the Capella Motherboard platform supporting the AMD EPYC (Genoa) CPU, featuring a uniquely designed daughter-card/baseboard to facilitate EDSFF signals from E1.S modules. Equipped with 128GB of rapid DDR5 memory, dual modular power supplies, and two Hailo-8 AI Inference Accelerators within every AI module, the server reaches exceptional performance levels. This robust setup empowers it to decode up to one hundred 720P video streams at 25 frames per second while performing AI analytics on every single frame—a testament to its remarkable processing capabilities.
Furthermore, the EB202-CP-UG is compatible with various software solutions, integrating seamlessly with Linux Ubuntu OS and enhanced software from Network Optix, providing substantial tools for applications in safety and security. This configuration offers comprehensive real-time analysis, ensuring it meets the demands of modern technology.
During CES 2025, attendees can experience a live demonstration of the EB202-CP-UG at Unigen and Hailo's suite located in the Venetian Tower Suite 29-106 from January 7th to January 10th. They can also explore the technology further at Unigen and Hailo’s booth #61701 in Hall G of the Venetian Expo.
