Toyota Motor North America Reports Strong Sales Growth for September 2025
Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) recently announced its sales figures for September 2025, showcasing a remarkable performance across its vehicle lineup. The company reported total sales of
185,748 vehicles in the U.S. during September, reflecting a solid increase of
14.2% compared to the same month in 2024. This surge also corresponded to a
9.5% increase in daily sales rate (DSR).
In terms of electric vehicle sales, TMNA reported that
85,092 of these sales in September were electric vehicles, marking an
8.1% growth and accounting for
45.8% of its total sales volume. This underscores Toyota's commitment to a diverse and sustainable vehicle lineup, as they continue to enhance their electric offerings across the Toyota and Lexus brands.
Q3 Sales Performance
Moreover, TMNA's performance for the third quarter of 2025 was impressive, with
629,137 vehicles sold, which signifies a
15.9% increase in sales volume and a
14.4% uptick in DSR compared to Q3 2024. The electric vehicle segment thrived as well, with
282,794 electric vehicles sold, up
10.5% year-over-year and a representation of
44.9% of total sales for that period.
Delving deeper into brand specifics, the Toyota division itself reported
158,959 sales in September, experiencing a growth of
13.4% in volume and a
8.7% increase in DSR. During the third quarter, Toyota recorded
537,528 vehicles sold, growing
16.4% in volume and logging a
14.9% rise in DSR.
On the Lexus side, the luxury division recorded
26,789 vehicles sold in September, up
19.4% in volume along with a
14.4% rise in DSR. Quarterly sales for Lexus totaled
91,609 vehicles, marking a
13.1% increase in volume and an
11.6% growth in DSR.
Strong Customer Demand
Andrew Gilleland, Senior Vice President of TMNA, commented on the continuous strong demand across their product lines, attributing the fast sales to a combination of innovation, performance, and consumer loyalty. Gilleland stated, "Vehicles are selling as quickly as they can be produced, and our product diversification strategy promotes steady growth. With electric vehicles nearing the 50% mark of our sales, it is clear we are heading in the right direction."
