Lucid Air Grand Touring Sets New GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for Longest Electric Car Journey

Lucid Air Grand Touring Sets New GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

In an extraordinary demonstration of electric vehicle capabilities, the Lucid Air Grand Touring has officially set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the longest distance traveled by an electric car on a single charge. Clocking an impressive 1,205 kilometers (approximately 749 miles), the test drive spanned from St. Moritz, Switzerland, to Munich, Germany.

This remarkable journey included a diverse range of terrains, including scenic alpine roads, high-speed highways, and winding secondary roads. The Lucid Air Grand Touring outperformed the previous record of 1,045 kilometers established just last month, exceeding it by a staggering 160 kilometers.

Eric Bach, Lucid’s Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer, commented, "This range record is a significant milestone—it clearly showcases the technological lead that Lucid possesses. Our vehicles integrate top-tier efficiency with state-of-the-art powertrains, ultrahigh voltage architecture, and the most advanced battery management technology available today, allowing a Lucid to go farther on less energy than any other vehicle."

Notably recognized as the reigning champion in the electric vehicle segment, the Lucid Air Grand Touring features a proprietary electric drivetrain technology that boasts an impressive WLTP range of 960 kilometers and consumption rated at 13.5 kWh per 100 kilometers. With a robust output of 831 horsepower and a top speed of 270 kilometers per hour, this luxury sedan exemplifies performance excellence.

Adding to its appeal, the Lucid Air Grand Touring offers ultra-fast charging capabilities, enabling the battery to replenish enough charge to cover up to 400 kilometers in merely 16 minutes. Comfortably accommodating up to five passengers, the vehicle’s spacious cabin is crafted from premium materials, merging sophistication with functionality.

This GUINNESS WORLD RECORD achievement marks the second collaboration between Lucid and entrepreneur Umit Sabanci, who previously set the record for the most countries traversed on a single charge in a production electric vehicle, crossing nine countries in the 2024 drive—also in a Lucid Air Grand Touring. This recent accolade reinforces both Sabanci’s and Lucid’s status as trailblazers in electric endurance achievements.

"When I completed my nine-country drive in 2024, it was just the beginning," stated Sabanci. "This new accomplishment takes us even further. I am proud to be part of a movement that proves electric mobility is not just the future, but is redefining possibilities today."
