SHIFT Announces 14 AWS Experts Awarded Across Four Categories

SHIFT Celebrates Excellence at AWS Awards

In a remarkable achievement, SHIFT, a company headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has announced that a total of 14 individuals have been recognized across four prestigious categories within Amazon Web Services (AWS) programs. This recognition includes 1 AWS Ambassador, 3 Japan AWS Top Engineers, 1 Japan AWS Jr. Champion, and 9 members awarded as Japan All AWS Certifications Engineers.

This success comes on the heels of SHIFT's commitment to enhancing its AWS capabilities. In April 2024, SHIFT established an AWS Center of Excellence (CCoE) team aimed at developing AWS-related services and strengthening internal training and technical communication. The notable achievement of having 14 awardees this year reflects the high evaluation of their efforts over the past year, increasing from four recipients in the previous year.

AWS Ambassador Recognition

The AWS Ambassador program is a global initiative where AWS selects experts with technical skills and cloud knowledge. These professionals are recognized for sharing their expertise through presentations, open-source projects, and social media, thus enriching their own skills and knowledge. Currently, around 300 ambassadors exist globally. Hiroshi Otaki, the leader of the AWS CCoE team at SHIFT, was awarded this title for his leadership in developing AWS expertise and driving technical information dissemination at various tech conferences.

Recognizing Japan AWS Top Engineers

The 2025 Japan AWS Top Engineers is an initiative that acknowledges engineers within AWS partner companies in Japan based on their outstanding technical abilities and achievements in real business scenarios during the evaluation period from April 2024 to March 2025. The recognition this year goes to Hiroshi Otaki (Security), Riji Torano, and Mitsutoshi Matsuo (Services) for their exemplary contributions.

Celebrating Esteemed Jr. Champions

Yukimasa Yamashita has been named the Japan AWS Jr. Champion for his outstanding early-career contributions in disseminating technical information related to AWS. This prestigious title is awarded to young engineers with 1-3 years of experience, who have excelled in showcasing their knowledge and growth.

All AWS Certifications Engineers Award

The 2025 Japan All AWS Certifications Engineers honors professionals within AWS partner companies who hold all AWS certifications. This year, the program included three new certifications: AWS Certified AI Practitioner, AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate, and AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate, making it increasingly challenging to achieve this recognition. Despite this, nine engineers from SHIFT achieved all twelve relevant AWS certifications within the specified timeframe.

SHIFT's Commitment to AWS

In alignment with customer needs, SHIFT has actively enhanced AWS-related services in the public sector, achieving recognition as an AWS Public Sector Partner in February 2024. To offer flexible solutions using AWS technologies across various industries, SHIFT established the AWS CCoE team, composed of AWS specialists with all certifications and recognized as Japan All Certifications Engineers.

Continuing its commitment to quality, SHIFT developed the AWS Security Assessment service, which visualizes the security status of AWS environments and suggests improvements to enhance security. This service met high standards of operational efficiency, security, and reliability, earning recognition as an AWS certified solution in December 2024.
