At the beginning of the new year, on March 2, 2026, Unitree Robotics made a splash at the China Media Group's Spring Festival Gala as the official robot partner for the third consecutive time. This year, they introduced the world's first fully autonomous martial arts performance utilizing a cluster of humanoid robots, specifically the G1 and H2 models. The demonstration was not just a visual spectacle but also a showcase of unprecedented technological achievements.

Unmatched Motion Performance and Technical Breakthroughs


During the performance, Unitree's humanoid robots exhibited remarkable agility and coordination, marking several world firsts. Some of their groundbreaking maneuvers included:
  • - The first continuous freestyle parkour featuring table jumps.
  • - An in-air jump reaching over 3 meters in height.
  • - The first continuous one-legged jumps.
  • - A two-stage backward somersault supported by a wall.
  • - The innovative Airflare Grand Spin executing seven and a half rotations, among other highly complex movements.

These advancements redefine the conventional limits of humanoid robot mobility, marking significant progress in explosive power, agility, coordination, and reliability — laying the groundwork for future applications in intricate scenarios.

High-Performance Coordination and AI Algorithms


The seamless coordination during the performance was achieved through a newly updated highly parallel cluster control system that enabled real-time synchronized movements between dozens of robots. This technology minimized synchronization errors, achieving extremely low latency in movement coordination.

For localization, a self-developed AI fusion localization algorithm was utilized, processing proprioceptive data combined with 3D LiDAR to maintain precise environmental understanding. This algorithm allows for precise localization even after intense movements, preventing traditional tracking issues during dynamic maneuvers.

The Unitree team fine-tuned pre-trained control models, enabling the robots to adjust their positions in real-time during martial arts actions. The combination of AI-driven localization and control algorithms successfully addressed cumulative motion errors over longer sequences, ensuring consistent and unified movements throughout the entire performance.
