Explore the Wonders of Robot Programming!
Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of robot programming? The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is delighted to announce a special workshop aimed at young learners from primary and junior high schools. This initiative is part of the "Tokyo Kids Creative Lab" (affectionately known as "Kurirabo"), a project designed to nurture creativity through digital experiences in our upcoming digital society.
Target Participants
The workshop welcomes elementary school students (grades 1 to 6) and junior high students (grades 7 to 9) who either reside or attend school in Tokyo. We specifically want to reach out to those who have never programmed before, assuring that support will be available to make the experience enjoyable and educational for everyone.

Each session promises an engaging hands-on experience with coding and robotics through fun activities. Participants will learn about sequencing, logic, and outcomes by arranging command cards that instruct a robot to move, setting a strong foundation to progress into no-code programming.
Venue Information
The workshop will take place at the Mine Community Center located at 347-1 Mine, Hachijo Town, Tokyo. We would like to inform participants that there will not be childcare services available; however, facilities for nursing and diaper changing will be provided. No prior registration is necessary for using these facilities; please just speak to the staff upon your arrival.

Additional Activities

The "Tokyo Kids Creative Lab" aims to create fun and engaging digital experiences for children, enabling them to explore various programs such as game creation, 3D modeling, robot building, and electronics. Our experienced mentors are on hand to assist both beginners and those already familiar with digital tools, ensuring every participant has a valuable experience.
About Mitsubishi Research Institute DCS
This workshop is in collaboration with Mitsubishi Research Institute DCS, a well-established IT company known for its expertise in designing, developing, and operating financial systems since its founding in 1970. They began their engagement with communication robots in 2016, and since 2021, they have provided free outreach programs for elementary and junior high schools, as well as schools for children with special needs.
