Neutrogena®, Aveeno®, and Rogaine® recently unveiled a range of exciting products and research at the 2026 American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting held in Denver, Colorado from March 27 to 31. As part of Kenvue's portfolio, these brands revealed 20 research abstracts that focus on crucial consumer concerns such as healthy aging, hydration, acne management, and sun protection.
The event illuminated new advancements, particularly in the area of UV absorption technology and formulation science. Dr. Michelle Bateson, Vice President and Head of North America Research and Development at Kenvue, expressed that these innovations emphasize accessible and effective formulas created in conjunction with healthcare providers. The aim is to enhance consumer trust through collaboration between dermatologists and the brands.
Addressing Key Consumer Concerns
The focus of this year’s presentations is to target the key areas of fine lines, sun protection, and overall skin health. A significant highlight was the launch of the Neutrogena® Collagen Bank Vitamin C Serum, specifically designed with a dual-action formula that helps preserve skin barrier strength while offering a potent dose of vitamin C.
Research has shown that nearly 80% of consumers use skincare products for preventive measures, indicating a shift toward solutions that support skin confidence as individuals age.
In addition to the vitamin C serum, the Aveeno® Hydro Boost line was showcased as a leader in deep hydration. These products are particularly beneficial for individuals with sensitive skin. A discussion titled Moisture in Motion emphasized the clinical results showing how the Hydro Boost line could enhance treatment outcomes, especially for patients undergoing procedures like microneedling or chemical peels.
Innovations in Hydration and Protection
Moreover, Aveeno® highlighted its Skin Relief Healing Ointment, which has shown superior moisturizing abilities compared to leading petrolatum ointments. This ointment's formulation includes Triple Oat and Glycerin, which effectively increases skin hydration.
Further innovation is seen in the Aveeno Calm and Restore product, which synergistically works to increase hyaluronic acid production under stress from UV radiation.
Acne remains a paramount issue for consumers, especially those under 40. Neutrogena® introduced a new formula promising effective acne management: the Neutrogena® Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. It contains 3.5% benzoyl peroxide, which aims to improve skin appearance while maintaining gentleness, an essential feature for many users battling acne.
Sun Protection Developments
Sun protection was another critical topic emphasized in the event. Although sunscreen is recognized for its protective benefits, only 17% of consumers consider it an essential part of their daily routine. Neutrogena® leads the charge in formulating effective sunscreens, including innovative research on bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (BEMT), a new UV filter technology. Despite varying SPF ratings, studies suggest that thoughtful sunscreen designs can maximize BEMT’s UV-protective capacities.
Current studies using Neutrogena® HelioPlex 360™ revealed gaps in protection against sun damage, illuminating the need for continuous education and innovation in sunscreen use. A discussion panel titled Everything Under the Sun will focus on educational initiatives and strategies to encourage consistent sunscreen application among patients.
