Japan Airlines (JAL) is embarking on an ambitious project dubbed the "New JAL Digital Experience" to refresh its official reservation website starting July 16, 2026. This initiative aims to meet the evolving needs of its customers by making the website more user-friendly and accessible. The update will begin with the Japanese and multi-language (Japanese language) sites, before gradually upgrading the English and other multi-language pages and the international flight reservation section.

As the airline industry experiences a remarkable increase in service demand, with international travelers to Japan expected to surpass 42 million in 2025, JAL recognizes the importance of improving customer interactions online. The airline has received numerous requests from customers for a more intuitive booking site. In response, JAL is set to undergo its first website redesign in nearly six years, aiming to provide an accessible platform for both seasoned travelers and first-time users. Customers from around the world will be able to enjoy a seamless experience without facing language barriers or information gaps based on their region.

Key Features of the Revamped Site



1. Simplified Navigation for Direct Access to Information
The website’s top menu will be revised to allow access based on customers' needs, such as "New Booking, Reservation Management, and Travel Preparation." This restructuring aims to streamline the user journey, enabling customers to find necessary information without unnecessary steps—leading to a stress-free experience.

2. Unified Design and Usability with the JAL App
The redesign will align the website’s style and operational interface with the fully revamped JAL app launched in April 2026. Aiming to cater to an increasingly diverse inbound customer base, JAL will eliminate inconsistencies in information across different languages. The airline plans to translate content efficiently to match the depth found in the Japanese and English versions, ensuring customers from any part of the world can navigate the site confidently.
